well I have owned a couple of bagged trucks and the only problem I ever had was leaking lines and fittings, as for being dependable they are great fun for a daily driver and I put about 60,000 miles on mine and it was great. I also have plans on bagging my 68 chevy truck Good fittings & Bad fittings there is no way to tell which are which I have used The same style that they use on Big rigs and the ones that are quick connect fittings(only prob with the quick connect if the line is not cut straight it will leak) but they both work fine
lol, I never said bags were the "best" thing. But there is no valid reason to be negative about them either. Done right, you shouldn't have any problems with it. Just like every other modification.
here is the only issue I found...the tank is tiny...it has 8 valves, half inch line, dot approved, 4 link rear, oh the front sits on the ground, could I put in bump stops or something?
Depends on how the front is set up, but likely you could put taller bag cups in OR a spacer if it has welded in bag mounts... I like stacking the 1/8 or 1/4 " circle plates to adjust hight a little...
how big of a deal is adding a tank and compressor? Would you plum it so that the additional tank would feed into the current tank?
I've been driven my bagged 51 chevy for three years.Snow salt rain Chicago streets never a problem.I will take my kids, dog, or wife anywere anytime in this truck because its DONE RIGHT!
Check the pinion angle at different heights, this will let you know if the bags were installed at ride height. If the angle is changing alot, then you have problems Im not sure but that looks like a 5 gallon tank, if you are not airing it up all the time, it might be ok. What size is the compressor ? and is it 100% duty cycle ? Its good that you have 8 valves and the system was not "T" by only using 4 L
So if I do buy this thing...when you drive it around you should drive it at ride hieght? What about pulling a trailer? My boys and I hit the motocross track weekly and the roads can get a little rough...is it okay to lift it all the way up to clear the uneven surface (driving like that for a 1/4 mile dirt road)? also, when I hit the brakes the truck pulled to the left...it didnt pull either way when I was just driving. This has got to be the rotors right?
you drive it at a hieght that allows you to steer w/o hitting the fenders, the lower that is, the softer the ride will be. you can drive fully lifted, but it will be stiffer. looked like the shocks were still on it at least in back, so it should ride pretty nice. just takes some time to find the sweet spot in it... gauges will help you dial it in, but not necessary.
hey bro when ya going i live in queen creek and if our schedules match ide be happy to ride alone with ya. ive done a few setups(about 30 or so) and work at a minitruck shop. ive seen a lot pm ill give ya my #
that poor lincoln was an abortion!!! someone ruined a great car!! that instalation was EVERYTHING you shouldnt do when bagging a car, even a blind man could tell it was hacked!! if you think every installation is like that one its pure ignorance!!
bro do what you want that is why we do what we do and drive what we want. i have bags on my my 55 truck have blown both rears do to some people thinking it is a race car when driven. i have switch to a motor driving compressor and shocks on the rear with the bag setup. it takes time to find the sweet spot i can testify to that. mine rest on ground you just need to get use to it all no big thang. if you need more info on bags talk to GRSMNKYCUSTOMS on here he has a shop in tucson called empire customs and he is the man to talk to they do everything from full bag setups, hydros to full customs. he is a cool kat and a good friend he is the one doing my truck.
