    I got my lower arms in yesterday, now I have to make my top mounts. I have a 9" in the car but I didn't have the pinion centered so the housing sits off to the right. Can I get away with making a 3/8" vertical plate welded onto the housing to connect the clevis to? Or do I have to make two vertical tabs and sandwich a rodend between them? I'm just talking about the mounts on top of the housing for the 4 link, I'll worry about the frame mounts later. Here's a shot of the lower mounts, just wondering if I can do the same thing on top? P.S. the radius rods are gone, just to clear up any confusion.

    Double shear will always be better than single shear mounting. I'd personally do two brackets on either side of a nice beefy heim joint. :)

  4. If your using a clevis instead of a spherical rod end ( that's phancy for hiem joint) then a plate the proper thickness for the clevis is fine. But like has been said if you use a hiem joint then two plates with the joint in between is the best setup. When I set them up I usually use a joint with a . 018-.020 shim on either side. Its a little noisy but it works real well.

    Oh the shim is just for welding setup, it does not go in the final ***embly

    Clevis= 3/8"
    Heims= use 3/16" for each side bracket
