I have been reading the Kustom Kemps of America web site and Jerry made a list of the koolest 50 kustoms. So because I had nothing better to do, I tried to list my koolest kustoms. Have you ever tried to do such a thing. I tried to list a top ten without success, but I know that I have my favorite all time and it is Young's Exotica. I have always thought the Hirohata was untouchable, until I saw Exotica again. If there is such a thing as a perfect kustom this 60 Chevy is one of them.

I know in the past this car has been a popular topic on the HAMB. But I'm sorry this kat can't get enough of her. Here are some pictures from Austin and my new digital camera. The pictures captures some of the flip flop on that wild paint job. Every time the sun light would peak out behind the clouds, I would go check her out.

After reading the web site, I made a small list of the cars that should be part of the koolest 50 kustoms.

    Ray Bozarth's 1951 Buick
    Bill Hines 1941 Buick
    Billy Gibbons "Kopper Head"
    Hub Harness 1960 Buick
    Zocchi's 1957 Buick (90's version)
Larry Cochran's / Doug Thompson built 1950 Chevy

What would be on your list?

Thats is definetly a cool kustom. I love customs but at times I just can't get myself to do that to a car, much less a rare car. I can cut up 4doors, common shoeboxes and things that are in abundance. But when I look at like say a 60 impala, I love the trim that came on the car. Same goes for a 58 impala and there are several others. It makes me cringe when I think about it. But kustoms rule! Satin

  3. My fave is another Gary Howard masterpiece, Jimmy Vaughn's incredible 'Ironic Twist' '61 Coupe de Ville.

Exotica is one of my personal favorites... all the lines are perfect. It doesn't matter what paint is on it, what color, what style... those lines would always set the tone for that car. Outstanding...

I also like the Blue Danube... it was a "trendy" car, in that it's pure 50's, but to me it's the state of the art for that style.

I can't even do that with stock pre-'65 vehicles.

  7. It's pretty tough to name a car with cooler paint than Exotica! It has to be see, in person, to fully understand. [IMG]
