In 1962 in Nurnberg, Germany there was a B400 Convertible Sedan for sale on a car lot for 1500DM, about $325 at the time., dual sidemounts, luggage rack and trunk, speedo in KPH, pertol on gas gauge etc. The only body style of German Ford to use an American built imported body.
I was 14 living in Furth near W.O. Darby Kaserne. My Dad was in the Army and had no interest in cars.

the english sedans were made up until 1935 and had chrome grill shells in that year ,the 32s had the same fenders as us models then in 33,34,35 they had fenders like your 34s,the screen surounds were differant in 32 allso and the body was deeper in the later models and none had the swage around the rear window,im trying to find some pics of one ,will post later ,,,bob

wow Great Find!..Hope you Bought it!

  15. My Grandfather had one in Norway. A German officer confiscated it from him during the occupation. Last time he saw it was when they loaded it on a steamer headed for Denmark. I have the serial number. INTERPOL is on the case. And I'm hopping a plane to Copenhagen in the morning. Naw, no way I could have that kind of luck on Friday the 13th.

    Hi Morten!

It's tempting to have nuts'n bolts flying, trying to have it running for Bedrock Weekend, but I'm certain that my Caddy is gonna take us there even this year.

I want to be realistic here........ been pacing things before, that eventually had to be redone anyway, so next year will be my goal.

Hope all is well in Sweden and say hi to Jessica

    Cool find Klaz!

It's interesting to see all the different variations that was made (or rather.... was NOT made) over those 3-4 years, that the american bodystyles kept changing.

Most 32-34 sedans in Denmark, that have either been rodded or restored was the english bodystyles.
The assembly plant in Copenhagen also put out coupes, convertibles and roadsters with american bodys.

That book shown above, Thacker's "Deuce", has lots of English and European info. This is his 1980's book, now rare, NOT the 75th anniversary book.

Here's an update for the curious.

Yesterday my brother and I drove the 110 miles to pick up the 32.
The nice man that sold me the car had some of his friends come over to help load the ol' deuce and aaaalll the parts for it.

He had previously restored a model A, so I got whatever he had lying around for that too.

I guess I don't have to say, I was releaved to finally have the car and paperwork loaded on and in the truck, but man! the poor old truck was in the weeds from all the extra parts he gave us.

Took us an hour and a half to drive down there......... took an hour longer to get back home LOL
We got straight into the unloading bit and with the help of the crane all went along smooth
Put everything in the garage and, of course, had to mock up the hood and grille shell just to get a feel for the coming hot rod...... man I'm happy!!

Day after tomorrow I've invited all the guys 'n gals out for some tyre-kicking, coffee and cake, just to celebrate the new find and to mark the beginning of a rebirth.

Now to the pics...... pretty much speek for themselves, but the one with the little boy in front of the car is right before it was taken apart by the former owner.

    Enjoy!

    Thomas
