What Cam Should I Use ?

Hey Guys how about some advice on camshaft selection,I wan`t to put a new cam in my 59a,it`s in a 1930 roadster,
I was looking at the cams in speedway MAX-1 or the 400jr ??
I don`t want to do any other engine mods to accomadate this cam. I`m running adj lifter now also,Just want the engine to sound a little better.

If you are not in to mods,you need the max 1.It is a good 3/4 cam.

Since the ****ingovernment took the good stuff our of motor oil that keeps flat tappet cams alive I'm not buying anything but roller cams from now on.
Packard flatheads had roller cams in the thirties.

Isky says the 400 Junior may require head mods for clearance.

 

The jury is still out on that. No one has produced any scientific evidence that it is in fact due to the Zinc removal. Go to the Oil Thread for more info.

Here is the exerpt I am talking about....
