pretty much 50\50. its really a "pick-up truck 3-speed shifter" but there really all the same. as far as the install details. i did most of the work in the intierior of the car by removing the inspection cover on the floorboard. with a little bending of the mounting brackets and some stacks of washers for spacers your shiftin on the floor. hope it work for you! let met know you tou need any other details

i almost forgot. i can get the mr. gasket part no. off the box tomorrow . maybe it will help to locate to part in not in stock

  8. I put a floor shift on a 3 speed in a pickup; the only tough part was cutting the hole in the floor. And that wasn't too bad.

Just for giggles, here's the syllabus for the advanced course...

Maybe you can post a tech on it (or anyone else that might have done it)- I'm throwing around the idea myself with a '51 chevy coupe.

i did it in mine with a hurst kit someone gave me, jus a generic kit for a 3 speed on floor. The hardest part was to modify the arm the reverse gear is on. I had to make the pivoting point higher on the arm. Other then that easy weld it wasnt to bad.

My '57 Ford was a 3-on-the-tree converted to the floor when I got it. It had one of those generic Mr. Gasket 3 speed shifters in it, which was a total piece of shit. It broke several times on me before I pulled it out, bought a Hurst Indy set up for $75 from Jeg's and never had another problem. Easy job even for a beginner

i did it in my 51 chevy with the mr gasket kit pick up truck kit. It wasnt too bad, basically just fine tuning the shift linkage.

National Chevy Assoc also sells a floor shifter kit specific to the Chevy trans. Looks pretty beefy. But I've never used it. :D

I would advise on a good quality shifter like a Hurst or one like Sinner13 recommended. Never had any luck with those Mr. Gasket ones. In my opinion there crap. They shift sloppy and the mounting brackets suck.
