Event: Mile High Shakedown Attn Colorado Hambers

May 4th (friday night) and 5th (Saturday) the Mile High Shakedown Kustom Kulture Art show is taking place at 238s Gallery (238 N Santa Fe). I have put together 7 of Colorado finest lowbrow styled artists for this show. Friday night Reno Divorce will be playing in the gallery. There will be Beer, Awards for the best hot rod and custom, and a pinstripe panel jam. Saturday will be the showing with an art auction going on a 3 p.m. All proceeds for this event go to the Ma**Fund Animal Shelter. We all have heard about the dog food problems lately. Ma** Fund is the only NO-KILL animal shelter in Colorado and they are in dire need of help. So far we have goten a great response from the DTA, Sabres, some of the HA, etc, and hopefully the No Ones will show as well as the Hoodlums. There will be 2 different event t-shirts for sale that were put together by the artists.

If you think you can make it, let me know. I would hate to run out of beer Friday night.

No I haven't, but then again it's not like the Pinhead told me he had it either. Can't wait to check it out as I have a couple of '28's sitting around that need something that rolls slid under 'em.

JD, the art district is from 9th down to about 5th. This place is in between 2nd and 3rd.Santa Fe is a block East of Kalamath in which that one "hotrod" shop resides. the good thing is....Santa Fe is 4 lanes wide and pretty industrial on both sides and there is a nice run for about a quarter of a mile. Not that I would ever condone such things but you never know.

 

If Johnnie is coming down from Gunnison (about a 10 hour drive) you'd better have plenty of beer...!!!

It's not even a 10 hour drive round trip. Also, that Deuce likes to click along about 75 so, lets say 3 1/2 hours.

Besides, I don't even drink beer, so all you thirsty children are safe.

Hey Aaron what time on Friday night are you thinking about kicking everything off?

 

around 6ish. I will be down there all day hanging art so I may be ****faced by then. Pinstipers will be playing around 8ish, the band will kick on around 9ish, Award for best rod and custom around 9:30-10:00ish.


yeah, my schedule isnt set in stone yet.

 

seems like there were 100 photogs there, but no pics here!

was a nice little show albeit a little damp and chilly, about a half dozen cars rolled up from the springs, got a little wet, drank a little beer, good punk band, lots of nice lookin ladies and cars. then there was dave pareso getting his merc hung up while trying to drive off a curb, oops.

 

heres some ray, sorry I didnt get a chance to say hi, I was hella busy the whole time

we went through 30 cases of beer in 5 hours, made around 1500 bucks to go to the maxfund animal shelter, all the artists sold some of thier stuff, I think I have Rev and 1 shot slinger booked till fall and I gernaded the ****** in my bucket. I can honeslty say I was suprised by the turnout. This is the first big show I have ever put together and it was the best thing I have seen in Denver in years. Thanks to JD and the No Ones, Aussie Steve Stacy and the Hoodlums, My beloved Road Devils, Cadillac Bob at Atomic Age, and the rest of Denver for making this a success. I learned allot and the next one will be bigger and better.

If you didnt make it, we didnt miss you. And I understand if you didnt want to get your little trophy queen wet.

What a great show, thanks to everyone who showed up and dealt some green for the auction. I had a blast. And **** Dale kicked *** saturday night too.
