Somehow I can't help but think that this has something to do with Noodles. Just not as kreepy. Tim MBL
More like 5-6 pages... The engineers coupe was pretty bad *** though. Surely you will agree with that...
[ QUOTE ] What kind of car does he have? [/ QUOTE ] He's got a '57 Nomad with five-spokes, four-wheel disc brakes and a '70 454. Not trad but kinda timeless. The only thing I'd change is the goofy steering wheel. Maybe it's just my Mullet Car but I didn't see what the problem was with featuring that pair. Better them than another Noteboom monstrosity.
your right maybe he shouild be driving a SUV with 20" rims that spin when you stop!! Get off it, this post is LAME!!!I think its cool that hes a little "normal" driving the 57' Talk about something we can use on our cars!!! JimV
She says weve got to hold on to what weve got cause it doesnt make a difference If we make(built) it or not Weve got each other and thats a lot For love - well give it a (one)shot LOL, Satin
I will stick up for Jon Bon Jovi. He may not be HAMBer material, but it appears he's a pretty serious car guy. Good for him. As a side note, Bon Jovi has sold 100 million albums? DAMN.
you think YOU guys have it bad....try everytime I go home to my parents where I grew up i see the sign..."Entering the boyhood home of Jon Bon Jovi" Try graduating from that ****ers highschool too...... and having relatives that dated him... 1 time..im going to a pop warner football game for my cousin...there are TONS of hot chicks there......TONS all the "****s" (mother id like to F..) there...im thinking this is really wierd....then someone says...yeah thats cuz that ****ers kid plays on the other team...and all these mothers dress up and come to all there kids practices in lipstick and hotpants!! god...i used to like living in NJ hahahhaha BTW - the town is Sayreville.... ive since moved to east brunswick.....boyhood home of noone. -Rob "caffeine"
Hey, he's a hot rodder, lighten up! A big block 57 Nomad is a hell of a lot cooler than a 4 door Falcon. Besides, the magazine really missed the mark when they DIDN'T include the other member of Jon's group, Tico Torres' car. Tico bought my old boss' 54 Merc. I know none of you guys have ever seen it. He built it in the late 50's..as did many a teenager. Took him a few years to do it, changing it as he got the money. Driving it in primer. Getting a job in an upholstery shop to learn how to do the interior. working at body shops learning how to do the bodywork. When finished, the Merc ran the indoor car show circuit on the East Coast, for a few years. Won all the big honors, too! It had 56 Packard tail lights, 55 Pontiac front grill/bumper, nosed decked, shaved, custom side trim, scooped hood, and a KILLER pearl green paint job, with pearl white scallops. I believe the paint was done by a pretty famous Jersey painter, Tony Bruscavich (sp?). As I've said, my old boss, John Paszik, showed the car for years, and won every big trophy you could. he had his own custom shop, and was the best body shop in my area. I went to work for him when I was in school, cleaning the shop, and working for peanuts most of the time, just to learn from him. In the 70's he was still cranking out fantastic custom cars. he still had a p***ion for Kustoms, chopping Mercs, even when they were totally out of fashion. He was still driving his green Merc into the late 80's, even driving it out to the Leadsled Spetacular in Springfield Ohio, in 83. Unfortunately, he lost his business in the early 90's. I had been working for him for over 15 years, on and off, full and part time. I opened my own shop, part time, and actually continued his work, finishing many of his old customer's cars. John had to sell his Merc to bail himself out of his financial trouble. It went through a couple owners, and I even wound up doing some work on it, when Matty Wade decided to revert the car from it's early 60's look, with Shore Calender Wheels (Rader look alikes), and 'double pin whites', to skirts, wide whites, and Caddy caps. I did the skirts, even matching them to the original pearl green paint. Tico bought the car from Matty, and has kept it in storage in his airplane hangar for many years now. Sometimes he must take it out, I've heard stories of it cruising the roads of South Jersey. The paint is really worn, primer showing in may spots, but the car still looks great, and it's Y block, with 3 deuces still runs strong. I had heard that Tico may want to restore it to it's early glory, and I hope I have a chance of helping in it's restoration! John is in a nursing home now, he's not that old (58-9), but can't take care of himself. I think a lot of his problems have to do with working with lead, painting without a mask, and other chemical poisoning. I visit him every couple months, and update him on what's going on in our old circle of friends. I'd love to drive up one day with his old car, all restored. He is a good guy, a great teacher, and a survivor.
Chopolds, that's a cool story! I normally I don't post about **** like this, but why does Bon Jovi have any less credibility than Mike Ness? 'Cause he didn't build his own car? Ness didn't either. If it were Ness or anyone else you'd be swinging from their nuts. I gotta support my hair metal heroes because nobody else has the balls to. I suppose it would be better if he just drove his west coast customs whip. I think it is cool to see how the "other folks" live and the fact they like the same **** I do. That 32 was cool although the flames kinda ****ed and looked like an afterthought. Don't make me break out my Ness Picture, or Setzer with big hair with Jetboy. Don't believe me? Keep pushin' brotha'.
Aw, you ***s just hate him cuz he's so cute...and rich...and talented...and he got to play Ally McBeal's BOYFRIEND/Landlord...in addition to writing a billion cool tunes!! Geez...Billy Gibbons can commission and buy a ****load of rods, but Bon Jovi does it and you CRY??? Wish I had his money, talent and looks! (But I'd settle for the money!)
Check out the license plate frame on that '32...it's the $9.99 chrome skull with light up eyes frame they sell at Autozone. Seems like the car was a high-tech billetmobile and they tried (and failed) to rat it up...should have left those weird flames off the car too.
"Geez...Billy Gibbons can commission and buy a ****load of rods, but Bon Jovi does it and you CRY?" Well Fat Hack....did Bon Joisey ever throw his pretty friends out of a MOVING TRUCK in a STEEL BALL to see the SPARKS fly? Rev. Billy G is so much "car guy" that he could actually lend some of his life experiences out and STILL be way ahead of the game..... Big Difference in my opinion. We had a chance to listen to him and Barris in person discussing it ALL....I wish I could remember his bucket T to Mexico story....
Ha Ha Ha Ha...yeah, I know Billy's a hard core car guy, along with being one of my top five gee-tar influences...but I was just making an observation... ...seems like a public figure such as Bon Jovi shouldn't DARE to own anything but a limmo or the m***es will fry him for being some sort of a rich boy poser... (which he may well BE, but really...who cares? )
[ QUOTE ] a rich boy poser... [/ QUOTE ] I have a new career goal. I guess I should have majored in music or theatre instead of history.
[ QUOTE ] I have a new career goal. I guess I should have majored in music or theatre instead of history. [/ QUOTE ] nah, stick with history.... as an actor its almost mandatory to become a liberal, live in Hollywood, work as a waitor/waitress, be overly dramatic, flakey, and drive a hybrid with a continuous loop of smashing pumpkins.
I really enjoyed the story about during a recording session they watched American Graffiti 6-8 times a day for several days in a row. Then they GOT ON THE STICK and flew in Paul Lemat AKA John Milner for the final day of recording!
Cool story! Haven't read it yet, but I'll look out for it. Lotsa rockers have cool rides...ever seen Kathy Valentine's 59 Ford or 64 Rivi? Eddie Van Halen's 56 Chevy or grey Bug? Setzer's cars? Jeff Beck's rides?
Quoted by Rob "caffeine": [ QUOTE ] you think YOU guys have it bad....try everytime I go home to my parents where I grew up i see the sign..."Entering the boyhood home of Jon Bon Jovi" [/ QUOTE ] I feel your pain... I grew up in Sayreville (on Kupsch St.) and my family is still there also...
