OT: Worlds' Fastest Street Legal Car: 0-60 in 1 second!

Neat video, fast car for sure. I don't know if I'd get away with that as being "street legal" in my hometown but if he's got it checked out with the cops, then I'm impressed. I'm sure that's more than most of the so called "street legal" drag cars can say.

That car is a four door with the back door sealed up and the handle shaved. I would think that for 100,000 pounds he could have budgeted a longer set of front doors for better proportions. Still sweet though.

 

Pretty impressive. Turbos rule for making big, streetable, pump gas power. Nine liters of displacement don't hurt either. Last year's Hot Rod Magazine Pump Gas Drags winner ran 8.50 on spec pump gas and I think they run slicks.

I'm curious if the 7 second p***es by this car were done on pump gas and legitimate treaded tires as mentioned in a previous post. If so, I have even more respect for the man.

 

Well, not ALL of the regs! You Chaps get to drive TVRs, Ariel Atoms, and even Radicals on the street. You can't get cars like that in the USA (Well...with some trickery you can get an Atom now). Jeremy Clarkson calls England a 'Nanny State' but you wouldn't believe all the government-mandated safety **** required on our cars in the USA. It took Lotus 5 years and over 300lb. of extra dead weight equipment to get the Lotus Elise into the USA. It ****s. Europe gets all the good sports cars and we get the clumsy big stuff.
