I couldn't find hinges for the 51 but MAC's, Dennis Carpenter, and C & G all carry the pins and bushings. I would also recommend getting the hinge screws as well, since chances are they are going to get roughed up taking them out. Good luck.

Hey, find a good 4 door and take the rear hinges off. Sometimes you have to heat 'em up, but that shouldn't take too long. An old 4 door usually has good hinges. Been there done that! Or, run a wanted ad in Hemmings Motor News. Some body will email or write about a new set.

usually just replace the pins...sounds easy huh? We had to weld a bolt onto the hinge screws to remove the screws...what a pain.

ive read a couple of threads here saying that you can just replce the hinge pins if the doors are sagging but in theory i dont see how that would work if the hole seems to be out of round.

id sure like to change just the pins if i can rather then taking the whole hinge off and redrilling it out or putting a new hinge on

    any suggestions

i tried changeing just the pins in my 51. what a F in nightmare. after who knows how many years there frozen in there. i was told to use an air hammer after i had already dremeled the top of one to try to drive it out with a BFH and a awl needless to say it didnt come out. id just get hinges and replace them completly. it woudl be alot faster and easier

The repop pins are slightly bigger if I recall correctly. That's how it would correct your problem.

the hinge pin material is a little softer than the hinge, i read that on a shoebox site somewhere so hopefully the pin will contain most of the wear. Ive got to do mine soon..dreading it.doesnt look like you can actually get the top pin out without removing the hinge.
My replacement hinge pins came in a dennis carpenter bag.
    good luck dude
