bought a used dolley for $400 and put in a new windshield in the front yard, rebuilt the carb and left tampa for nova scotia.2000 miles,11/2 quarts of oil,4 days later ,she was home, safe and sound.the wife even said she enjoyed the trip.(you know i did)
that's bad***, I imagined it the other way around. Looking at the pics, it doesn't seem that would have gone over so well.
way to go dude!nice thing about car dolly's is their is always someone out their that will buy it when your done with it.
I LIKE IT. Do it again. I think it gives the motoring public a lot of respect for the older cars. They often think older cars can't do highway speeds or survive long trips for some reason. Back in the late 70's (or early 80's?) I had to go from Illinois to Charleston SC to pick up my 51 Stude bulletnose my brother had borrowed to get back to his ship, and then tow bar it home to save it from the BIG hurricane that was already blowing hard. I forget the name of the famous hurricane. We had just started on the way home when the late model station wagon broke down. The old bulletnose Stude (V8, not the flathead six) towed the late model car all the way back to Illinois without a hitch. We heard a lot of talk about it on the CB radio throighout the trip.
I wasn't expecting it that way either ! So how long into the trip did it take for you turn the radio on and forget about all the little noises ? lol
once we got the first day under our belt.i figured we had her beat.but you never stop listening for a change in the song the dual pipes were singing.this is out the motel window ,the first night.
KOOLIO!! At least you were driving the right car. A couple weeks ago I had to tow my buddies 2001 Honda Civic to the dealer with a blown trans with my Caddy. The people there were kinda turning up their noses at me. The estimate was $1400 for a USED trans plus installation So guess who put a trans in a ricer
