Hey all~ moved to Crossville from Washington. Couldn't bring any of my projects yet. Wondering who the local guys are. Where they are and what's going on. Been bored on weekends and looking for something to do. Thanks all Bored on weekends
The Sumner County Vintage Vehicle Club is located in Hendersonville, Tn. We have a well attended Cruise In on Friday nights, beginning April 6th. We typically have 75-100 cars.We are members of the aaca. Check us out at www.sumnercounty-aaca.com. There are car shows most every weekend in Middle Tennessee. In fact, there was one in Hendersonville today and Dwayne from the American Hot Rod show was here. Also, the large Hunters Custom Automotive show is this weekend at the Fairgrounds in Nashville, in door show. There are many shows in East Tn., especially Gatlinburg. No need to be board. Welcome to Tennessee!
There are at least 3 HAMB members close to you. There is Count Scrapula who is also in Crossville, then there is Lone Wolf who is in Pleasant Hill, then there's me in Monterey. Check out the Crossville cruise in. I believe its every Thursday up there at the Dairy Queen. Count Scrapula goes to it quite a bit. I've been there a few times. If I ever get my damn car back on the road, I'll be hangin around some places this summer. I've driven my machine through Crossville many times. Now, a little more EAST from you is the Greazy Hubcapz c.c. of East TN. Largely based in Maryville and Kingston. I used to belong to them, but they threw me out because I refused to participate in the monthly "swiss cheesin". That's where we drove around and shot up cop cars with a Greazy Hubcapz sacred car club pistol. I refused to do it because it was unsafe. Those stick on bullet holes were invented from the goings on down there in Maryville. The cops would put them all over their cars in order to trick us into thinking we'd already "swiss cheesed" it. Anyhow, I'm now a member of the Poor Boys c.c. The Poor Boys of TN are based largely in the Nashville area. To make a long story short, Tennessee is chock full of HAMBers and Hot Rodders. Welcome. J.
Not bad since it was held the same weekend as Hunters and Louisville. One of our club members with a dropped and chopped '51 merc, won a large trophy. They are considering another show in the fall. Scattered showers today probably hurt attendance as well.
I'm in the Greazy Hubcapz cc POON BOYS are gay. Tingler, i heard you want back in the Greazy Hubcapz, why? Its no fun being a Greazy now that most of the guys are in JAIL, did you RAT them out when you left?
sparta has a cruise in too, also sparta and crossville has a car show, not large but better then nothing
Thanks all! I'm trying to find a good source for info. Had I known about Hendersonville I would have skipped going to Knoxville today. I'm really itching for June to come around so I can go back up and haul a project back. Probably wont be the roadster or my '56 buick. I'm thinking I need to sell a vehicle of mine and build a Q&D rod to play with. One good thing though......the shop truck is a '34 Ford pickup Just a little goin' to town toy. Funner than the 442 to me. thanks for the welcome. I Plan on catching up with some folks maybe helping some out. Mike
I'm in Crossville. What area you located? Lots of good shows around in Knoxville, Pigeon Forge, and Nashville. In June there's the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green, KY. The first weekend in May is the Street Rod Nats South in Knoxville. The Thurs. night before the show Lokar hosts an open house with lots of eats and door prizes and stuff. Lots of car guys around here. Anyways if ya need to know anything about local events or anything let me know. Would like to see some pics of the truck. I've got one in the garage now in peices. Later Count
Hey Count, the Hot Rod Reunion outgrew Beech Bend in BG and the NHRA moved it to Hebron, Ohio for 2007. Count me as another middle Tennessee HAMB'r Tracy
I'm over here on Pomona Road. I'll try to get a good picture of the '34. I have some old ones of my '59 though. me and a buddy actually put in 4 straight (yes day and night. Lots of MONSTER and LOTS of music) putting it together and painting it. here is a picture of the interior and the door panels. I painted the interior over my 3 day weekend turkey time. Interior is PPG 9300, and '07 Silverado Silver Birch metallic. Yes I painted it. No, it's a family friends Home made downdraft booth. Mike
I didn't know that. Man that's a bummer I was really lookin forward to goin this year. The kids loved the water park and I got to look at cars. I was hopin to stay the whole weekend this year cause I didn't get to go last year. Dang!
The '59 is Mine. Still in Washington state. The '34 is actually the company truck. our little SHOP truck! Flattie (of course) 3 speed box. '50 ford rear. Satin black. you know the bill. How's your '34 coming along? Mike
Not at all right now. Too many other irons in the fire, but hope to get back on it before long. What kind of flattie? Warmed over I assume. What kind of mods?
