Just wanted to let all you in H.A.M.B. land know the Pate swap meet is coming up on April 26- 29 at the Texas motor speedway in Fort Worth. For those who have never been it's probably the biggest swap meet in Texas and you can find just about anything there. I will be there with all of my 49-51 Mercury parts. I have parted out several 49-51's and will have everything from suspension, engines, rearends, front fenders, grille surrounds, quarter panels, trim pieces, and just about anything for 49-to 51's. I will be in spaces 742 and 745 on fifth street. If you need something for your 49-51 Merc or whatever rod you've got, check it out. If nothing else it's a good excuse to get out for a road trip and hang out. Thanks, Ken

  2. I will be there. I dont know if you can find just anything but there is alot of stuff to buy out there. Kinda miss the old pate swap though.

oh I miss pate ! that shit hole ? at the race track is just stupid.

  7. Is there a Chickasha in the late summer around the Hamb drags also? I went to Pate a couple years ago, and was very disapointed. Heard the same thing, the old pate was better.

In its heyday the Pate has been called the "Carlisle of the Southwest. Before they sold out and moved to the racetrack. I started going to Pate in the mid 70's and watched it grow larger each year. Now it just gets worse every year.

    I'll be there

    9th and Sneva

Maybe the old place was nice but ..
That was before on line auction houses ..Plus and extra 10,15 years
of stuff selling, does limit the goods somewhat

Pate is still a big swap meet to look for stuff and enjoy the hobbie

    And , I don't miss the mud

  11. I can't wait for Fajitas at the TP camp. :) :)

    .....and some car parts too.

I haven't missed it in 16 years. Even if I don't have anything I'm particularly looking for, its the thrill of the hunt. I always come away with some incredible deals.

I haven't been sense they moved it to the track. But we're thinking of going this year. I got a short list and even shorter funds, so may not make it.

Be sure and get up early for the chariso and egg burritos. I have 30lbs of fajita meat marinating. I'll post my numbers here in a little while. May even have some shrimp fajitas this year. if I can make it to the shrimp fairy saturday we will for sure. all welcome. This will be my 27th year. I enjoyed the old pate more but I used to like teenage girls also. TP

Is there anyone who would want to meet up and make it a night cruise up there?? We will be leaving Friday aroung 6:00 from Victoria.

There are several nice motels in Denton (north of the swap meet). We usually stay there if were not camping at the meet. Wouldnt hurt to make a reservation now.

Thanks for the info............wish we had somebody to cruz up there with, we will take the hot rod and let our neighbor take the Magnum for extra storage. I tell you, no-one from Victoria ever wants to cruz anywhere,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Sonic, wow, 10 mins. from home.......
    really sucks...
We will probably cruz alone...................Oh well, it is better than taking the work wagon............:p
