Has anyone on the borad got experience exporting cars out of Cuba, Im not worried about the import aspect, just getting the cars in a container and on a boat, not Cubians in a car acting as a boat. :)

Here in the US I don't believe we are "allowed" to import from Cuba. Something to do with using virgins thighs to roll their cigars or something like that.:D

  3. I think is is more than just exporting to the USA, i think the cuban government doesnt alllow motorcycles, cars ect to leave the country

that's right. you'd have to ship it to some country that didn't support the US embargo on Cuba, and then ship it from that country to the US.

  5. Can someone please post a Tech piece on that cigar rolling method? Oh yeah, lots of pictures will be helpful.:D

  7. It's a ******* contest. Do a search here or on the internet, unless you'd like a rusted '57 chevy 4dr with Russian diesel truck engine, get your American cars from elsewhere.

I was down there (legally by the way) in December of '04. I didn't see much tin worth exporting. 99% of those cars have russian diesel 4 cylinders in them, and are beat beat beat!! I did see a couple of "nice" cars, they were being used for wedding rentals etc... I don't think there's anything down there worth the cost and h***le to get it back to the u.s.
Even to Austrailia, probably not worth the cost and h***le.

But it sure was fun being there, it felt like I went back in time.

a friend was in Cuba and didn't report any virginal thighs but said every old American car was made of 50% bondo and 50% Russian military transporter parts.

They use chicken wire and concrete for body repair, covered with brush-painted house paint. Seriously. And you can't legally buy a car in Cuba if you're not Cuban. That whole "all those mint cars in Cuba!" is a load of ****.

  13. it's my understanding that cars in Cuba are very expensive , even a POS...i think getting one out of there even if you could would be very costly

you'd be better to buy in the USA and have it shipped to Australia

I feel very saddened by the loss of that 46-47 Ford Airport Limosine. Those damn freedom seeking Cubans!

a german friend o mine did exported old harleys and indians from cuba long ago thru a high politician contact, wich no longer exist...

he was not into cars but my own experience also says NOT worth it to take anything out from there...

all rebuilt with russian engines and parts, and the bondo is concrete applied, and brush painted...is true.

probably takin apart a car we can find a puzzle of lot of different **** on it...

and ALL stuff is legally property of cuban government.current owners are NOT the real owners...government is!!!

yeah, there is always a way to get things but in this case, leave the **** there for the tourists...again,is just loosing time.

go to Argentina instead and Mexico...still lof of good junk there.i find daily great stuff in Mexico, and lot of fun to find hidden trasures

panhead pete, forget cuba about old cars..just old junk messed up...remember,no spares since 1959, mate...

and also extremely difficult to take out stuff from there...government is the real owner of all cars and bikes there,NOT the actual guys...

stuff can be confi****ed anytime for any reason...not what we call it freedom,mate...

instead here in Mexico we still have lot of cars everywhere ,and bikes too...

personally i´m a car /bike nut and daily lot of good **** pops up...

    much more fun...sled

The way the government is set up, nobody owns anything. Legally, Fidel owns everything, I mean everthing. So you better talk to him if you want something...
