Whats out there for short rear shocks from an OEM application that I could find a local parts store. I just bagged the rear of my truck and the stockers are too long to use. I need something fairly short. I didnt get a measurment but I can grab one tommorow if need be.

you need eye to eye set up or strut top style? Eye to eye look at KYB gas adjusts...they make them for all applications and there well built!

Eye/Eye combo. I would have just gone to napa but they closed like 5 min. before I fisnished. Having an application in mind before hand would help things considerably though.

Just a quick question. If the stock length shock is suitable for suspension to be bottomed out, and it is, then why would shorter shocks be needed? just wondering.

The bottom shock location has been moved so it bottoms out before it would be mounted to the new location even at ride height...not even with the air out. The truck is a solid 7" lower than stock. What would be the point of keeping a stock shock if you only got say 1" of travel out of it and have it bottom out before your suspension does. We're not talking a 2" drop.

49-52 Plymouth fronts. 73-87 C10 Chevy pickup fronts are what AirRide Technologies sells with alot of their kits.

We used VW bus (Kombi) fronts on a drastically lowered 68 C-10 about 30 years ago.

Ended up using '70 C10 front shocks. Worked out perfect and cost $20 each at autozone.

Not Too Sure But Make Sure They Are Too Long Or Too Short. If They Are Too Short You Will Have Alot Of Probleys With Them Braking The Mounts

Theyre just about perfect. Ride height puts them almost dead center between compressed and extended.
