A buddy in our club brought this very cool old trailer to our meeting tonight. He is trying to find out more about it. That usually means how much can I get for it....my neighbor offered him $1500 for it on the spot and he didnt budge, so maybe he really just wants to know more about it. Really cool old trailer. Has compartment for table & chairs, on the very bottem. Next is the luggage area. The top compartment has many compartments and a ice box. The front is a drinking water tank. Check out the neat hitch. 3 lug wheels and square gl*** reflectors! The tires are made in France and he thinks it is called a french cooker. Anybody know anything about these! Thanks.

Those are Citroen 2CV wheels for sure, not sure about the rest of the trailer but probably French, did Citroen make trailers? It's not homemade, is it?

Peugeot also used those rims. Grandad had an old Peugeot. Must be a French thing. I wonder if Renault used them too.

A very neat trailer, a little streamlining of those "fonky" French flatsided fenders and a nice artdeco two tone paintjob and you've got something there!!

There is a name plate on the front but its just a rectangle piece of aluminum that was probably printed on. The axel is a tortion type, and it appears to be manufactured item. Very well thought out with all the compartments and stainless shelf etc. The top does apppear to have been gas welded and leaded though. Unfortunatly, the person that owned it for the past 30+years is no longer with us. He called it a French Cooker?

VERY nice lines. I'd like to see it reproduced, even in fibergl***, with a stainless or polished aluminum water tank. Oh-La-La. ( Thats all the French I know, besides the always usefull curse; "French My Trench"! ).

Hey, that will match my french maids outfit. Seriously, that thing is way too cool! Did you find it in Mentor?

Really cool and practical! Any chance it is ex-military (although being French, not used much?!!)?

Not real crazy about the hitch, seems like it would allow the two halves to separate on a turn where there is flex'ing going on.

I thought your friend was nuts to offer $1500 but after looking at the pics, I can see where it's probably worth at least that.

It came out of Cleveland somewhere, my buddy wouldnt say. Story goes that the owner would give it to my buddy when he (owner) p***ed away, sure enough his widow called and now my buddy has it...

  13. Didn't the Citroen 2CV have an unusual suspension with trailing arms on torsion bars?

  14. Does the suspension look like this?
