hey how is every one? just wanted to introduce my self. Im Scott from central New Jersey. i have a 32 chevy sedan, lays body via channel and bags. looking foward to meeting every one. take care
here are some of the truck i built these are scanned, it was my first project i started in 1996 when i was 16. then it sat for about 9 years till now.
here it is as of now i decided to redo it and finally try to finish the truck. I cut out the fire wall recessed it 5 inches for the 350, started painting it etc. it started out as a sonoma gt which they only made 806 of. its more rare then my 32 sedan lol. any way i feel obligated to finally get it done. i learned alot on this truck and met alot of cool people in the process. ended up opening a shop building frames for people and general rod fabrication. heres the update!
so far the trucks bagged, channeled/ body dropped, tilt bed, suicide doors, fully shaved. the 350 etc. currently on 18 and 20 inch billets.
Welcome to the HAMB.Everyone starts somewhere, and it looks like you weren't shy about jumping in with both feet on the first project.Keep us posted on the 32 Chev project.
Hey looks like you did well on the truck and had an idea in mind. Im sure you'll do good on the 32 as well. and like its been said keep the updates and pics comin.
Welcome to the Board. Newer trucks are not my thing, but the truck looks pretty cool.. I would love to see what you are doing to that 32. Post some shots.
WHy the hostility, lol just as much if not mor ework goes into mini trucks than a rat rod or streetrod, these days most show trucks are built very high caliber. As far as my 32 the pics are coming i just got the car before winter and have it buried on dollies in the back of my shop. Ive been building minis customs rods for the last 11 years and professionally for the last 6. I decided it was time to build one of my own to enjoy instead of cutomers. I just dont understand the rudness? Thanks to every one else, for the complements!
You havent seen rude. It can get pretty bad here. We just wont to see picts of the progress of the chevy. Congrats on the truck tho.
ok due to recent disbelief here are some pictures of the 32. this is when i bought it back in november. currently its buried and prob wont come out till the new engine is fully built. believe it or not i fit 4 cars in this garage for winter storage on dollies. Yes thats my vette in the background...under the cover. i built a frame out of box for it, mustang ll front end tubular arms with bags, volvo rear rack, monza coulumn, 02 s10 blazer disc rear, parrallel 4 link in the rear. art electric valves, nitrogen tank air supply. and soon to be belt driven air supply. i origianlly wanted to run a solid axel with the bags but didnt want the axel in front of the frame like most guys do. to get the frame to lay out i had to have do a huge z in the front its just dint look right and never rode right on take offs and high speeds even with shocks. live and learn i guess. as of now im still changing stuff on the car. hardlining the air ride, stainless brake lines to match. hiding all the wiring. i pretty much build this in my spare time... so it takes a while to get stuff done.
[ fun little truck, no its not a RHD photos got flopped when i scanned them... this trucks a sleeper. stroker 383, bagged. all built in house, paint, interior etc. first time s***ching any thing... i can say it wasnt that bad either i enjoyed it
Amen to that. I've been hanging out around here for a long time, and believe me FNG's are sometimes better seen than heard from, but it is the best site you will find for the true rod guy.
yeah im starting to see that here. I take that fng stands for F**king new guy? well im sure there are more good ones than bad on here. God what happened to the "fellow pages"?
i'm thinkin it's less of a fng thing and more of a off topic thing. I'm bettin you know that streetsource or someplace like that is for mini's if you want to show that off... this place is pretty set on sticking with traditional hotrods and you'll catch hell if you put much else up... and yeah, i started a minitrucker too, but i'm bettin that most guys on here started with whatever was cheap and available when they started, and for my generation, that was mostly small trucks. all that said, welcome to the HAMB!
very nice to meet ya, yeah thats it for the truck pics lol. I guess i ll have to wait a few years before posting more pics of the trucks. I figured i d show the whole collection at once. Im not trying to start any heat here at all. But it is funny that they offer a willies kit that bolts on an s10 frame isnt it?
Hey,like that 32.Mind you,as you probably noticed,i'm kinda into the "bowtie"side of things. Thanks for the pics, and don't mind the ribbing that goes on,it's meant mostly in good natured fun,it's just that O/T (too new)rides are a little taboo here.Don't even mention fibergl*** bodies!!!HAHAHA
mini trucks blow every time i need a laugh i pick up a mini truck mag. theres only so many tailgates with crooked license plates a guy can take. good luck with the 32 and welcome to the HAMB there are lots of knowledgeable guys here.
Hey thanks guys. Good to be here. I love my 32 but last week end we had major flooding here in the part of jersey i am in and of course i was a foot under. My poor project is getting set back again. On a positve note its swapmeet week end and i picked up some good stuff for the car. i ll post some more pics soon.+
