I have a customer with a 49 Buick woody wagon that needs the trans at minimum regasketed & resealed, I was reading through my old Motors manual & it looks like more than I am up to.
There is fluid leaking from the shift shaft seal, speedo, front plate, externally from the torque ball & into the rear axle via the torque tube.
There is many mentions of specialty alignment tools & shims for ***embly of the torque ball alone, anybody up to the task, the closer to Western Washington the better, thanks, Uzek 360-376-5400

  2. Dukes trans. in Renton Wa. helped me find the reverse band for the powerflite in my Desoto. I would give you the number but I lost it. Their just off of Raineer ave. south of Boeing field

    from Seattle

I took my '56 Buick to a joint half a block north of the Cinerama Theater in downtown Seattle (Belltown, neighborhood-wise). I can't remember the shops name, but they always had Packards and Kaisers and all kind of 40s-50s iron in there, and they did an excellent job sealing up my leaky Dynaflow. Now, this was in 1992, but they were there a few years ago...on 4th Avenue.
