First off this site is great! Since this is my first post I thought I'd show off some fun stuff chopped_scout and I found. We had fun digging through it all today. Enjoy. Check this one out. And this barn fresh beauty!
I have more pics, I didn't want to show off. Kidding, besides I didn't know if anyone would even care.
That's the only picture I got of the barn car. I had to stick my hand in through a crack to get that one. Here is another couple of pics though. There wasn't much of anything there that hadn't been cut on. We'll see where the dealing goes from here.
hopefully you can snag the sedan...although the tudors would be bad A$$ too. I'd leave the flat top open and DROP that thing low. good hunting Mike Transplanted FROM spokane
I found them a year ago and have be waiting to get in touch with them again. I contacted them today and they welcomed me up to take some pics and dig around a bit. What do you think the four doors are for? I don't think I got pictures of anything they belong to. I'm also waiting for a friend of mine to let me know what he has on his property. He thinks it's either a 36C or 37D IH. If it's a C I hope the doors are wood free though I am worried about the wood in the cab either way. The 37 would be easier but I like the C's soooo much more. I'm on the hunt for my project and am trying to keep an open mind but I am an IH fan so I'm trying to hold out. Oh yeah, I also have to sell my current rig to buy my new DD and project. Anyone interested in a large 4 wheel drive? lol
I was born in the dark but not last night. heheee It's not a for sure thing, it was one of those things that I got to look at the stuff, tell them what I wanted and then they'll let me know if it's for sale or a piece of lawn decoration. We have our fingers crossed.
What is that swoopy piece in the garage? LaFayette? Graham? Studebaker? That's the cream of the crop there!
If I'm not mistaken, the beauty in the barn is either a Hudson (pretty sure) or a Terraplane. The grille outside with all the other stuff is a Hudson, about '34 or '35, and I'm thinking the body belongs to it. Anybody else got any other ideas?
Seems to me it's a Hudson as well but it was a year ago that I talked to them in person about it. They say that somewhere within that barn is a 392 Hemi that is supposed to go in it. I'm still waiting for a phone call from them. The barn rig isn't for sale, at least at this time. I'll keep everyone updated. I should add a picture of the rear end we found. We think it's a Jag, what say you? And don't forget this. I asked for a price on the rear ends, I have no idea on value.
I think the car in the barn is a 1935 Terraplane (or Hudson), the 1934 Terraplane doesn't have split rear window, but looks very much like it otherwise. Go buy it
Unreal... I didn't think that kind of stuff was still around. Here is a pic I took a long time ago...
I know where there is a Buick. It was the first year of the staight 8, 2 door sedan. Dang, maybe 4 door. It's been about 4 years since I saw it. My old neighbor had it but I moved, I got to drive it one time and I couldn't get over the power. Anyhow, bone stock always garaged and never driven in the winter. It was bought new by a family in my old neighborhood, garaged all winter with the tires taken off and put in the house! They only had one child, he never married or had children or moved from the house. So when he got to be pretty old Tom offered him "fair market value" for it and still has it from what I understand. Anyhow those barn finds and one or two family cars are getting tough to find.
What's the story on that shortened sedan/wagon.... A fair amount of work has already gone into it... I am VERY curious. Kevin
I'm not sure. I don't know these people at all, I was just out driving around last year with my son looking for a nice place to take a picture of my rig and spotted the property. I looked a little harder and saw the cars, drove up to ask about them and that's how it all started. Your right about the work that's gone into it. The only thing I have to say about it is this: that sheetmetal is THIN. I don't know what to expect I guess but I'd have thought it to be much thicker. I remember my stepdad working on an old Study when I was a kid, there was a dent in the rear fender and his normal hammer and dolly wouldn't touch it. So out came the single jack. My biggest worry about that stuff up there is the sheetemetal, I know I know "that's all there is sitting there". It's just all so thin, maybe I expect too much.
I just found this website last week, the pictures you posted are not showing up anylonger. First off, could you repost the pictures? And secondly, could you post an update? Have you purchased the vehicles? I am especially interested in any information available about the hudson.
