Quick Question: 4 1/4 bolt pattern Rims?? What are they off of?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 2tall2beahotrodder, Apr 27, 2007.

  1. I just got a set of what looks like military styled narrow rims. Their 17 inchs tall, skinny as hell and the pattern is 4 1/4. 5 lug..

What are they off of ? Plymouth?

  4. I have a 17" wire wheel , narrow with a 4.25" pattern also. I suspect early plymouth. Definitely not 4.5".

I'd love to find out, I am using a late model Lincoln rear end that is 5x4.25.

Are you sure 4 1/4? The question above s/b answered. If you have a 5 bolt pattern it should not be measured center of one hole to the center of the next.

I'm guessing this is the type of wheel you're talking about.
These came on '36 Chevy Standards.

Chevy Standards had the same bolt pattern the whole time they were around, from 1933-1936. There is also two types of chevy wire wheels with the same bolt pattern

    33-early 34

    late 34-35

  13. Yup i measured it right. I also picked up a plastic bolt pattern template today at the swap meet. Both came to the conclusion of 4 1/4.

Thanks Jimmy MClean. The first picture you uploaded looks exactly like the pair i have. I knew before picking them up today that they werent those Big prices military rims, but looked close.

    Their neat looking....

Thanks guys, i apperciate the feedback!

  14. I knew you'd have the answer. Here's the single wire wheel I've got.
