I've always thought they were kool,I,ve wanted one for ever.

 

i got my 64 econoline van back in feb. been upgrading and fixing things on it and she's running pretty stable now. i seriously dig this van.




and YES, she does fit in and out of that garage. BARELY. real slow, dont bounce the suspension, and she fits in with about 1-inch (literally) of clearance.

I would like to have a Econoline van for my T-shirt business, I'll be looking!

That van is super, super nice. I mean really nice. But one of two things would make it perfect. A:lower springs, would look great, with the added bonus of ease of garage parking. B:Gumbo Monster Mudder tires. I'm leaning more towards A. Still nice as is, I'm just saying.

Here's my daily... Custom rocker skirts, shaved emblems, 250 3 spd with split manifold, bamboo trimmed interior. Hope to get some bumbers and a decent coat of paint on it this summer...

Hey Spooky, how did you lower yours? There seems to be no easy way to do it.

I lowered mine by removing leafs my friend.

here's a pic I took of my friends 2 econolines

 

Econoline pickups had an odd option in tailgates, one was full height as you usually see, the other about 4" shorter. I guess it wass to allow loads like pipe and lumber to be carried and be retained by the bed walls as well as the tailgate support.

 

used to have an eight-door Econoline..are they un-common? Man, you would open all the doors on that van and it would disappear..170 six three on the tree..we drove that thing back and forth to California many times..several times it was three adults, a big dog, all their clothes, a Norton and a Sportster, all inside the Van....

 

Yep -- now considered rare.

 

I had a '65 windowless (now Hellfishy has it!) and picked up a '64 window van.
It's getting a 4" lowered front end, and disc brakes!
Needs a goodly amount of bodywork.

This is a pic from a while ago.
Last summer I got sick of looking at that nasty greenish
and white two-tone and went out and bought a bunch of
flat-black rattle can and painted the whole thing.
My hands were black and aching. heh.

I love these beasts! I miss the windowless,
but this one at least I can see out of....
