The House of Rust will be there at least Sunday.

We'll be bringing our Classic Stock Production classed '74 Malibu and maybe our roadster we've been building. We won't be running but looking to get some preliminary tech inspection.

So if you see a big black Malibu on a trailer that us, and we'll stop by and have a few Ray ans vise versa!

And like everyone said, if you have the opportunity to go... GO, you owe it to the car gods that live there and it's just down right awesome.

I haven't been out there in a few years. Have they put in a better entrance road or do you still have to drive over that mile long washboard? It may shake the cupboards loose in my trailer.

it was full of ruts last year.

  8. There's an asphalt road with speed bumps off the main road, then you turn west and there's a few whoopdedoos for the 100 feet or so until you get to the smoother lakebed surface. No big whoopdedoo- my cupboards haven't come loose :D.

    Thanks,
    Kurt

I'll be going for sure! It's my first time. Do I need to lay out a tarp under my campsite like bonneville? I know about no glass bottles and the enclosed fire pit rules. What about any other rules. I don't want to step on any toes.

  12. Yes i'll bring my banner and my canopy.

Tarp is not required at El Mirage. If your car leaks a really, really lot, maybe you could hang a can under it.

i'll be there one of the days. i'm bringing my mom out for the day. my dad and her used to go back in the day so i thought i would take her out there. i'll look for the hamb banner.

  18. Make sure the wood has no nails. Absolute no-no. Dont bring any fireworks or guns to go shooting.

If you bring a motorized bike or quad, you must wear a helmet. No driving with open containers.

Leave your dope at home. We have had the BLM guy pick a guy out of the group and search his truck. He found nothing, but was hoping to. They can and will ticket or arrest you if you are being an idiot.

Be prepared for the wind..= flying sand and dust. Lots of it. Weather report is calling for wind this weekend. At least Saturday.

And last but not least, bring enough supplies for yourself. food, beer, water and such. We all dont mind sharing a little, but I know a few guys that always show up empty-handed.

We have always had a good time. You will too.

So, beer and soda in cans, is ok, just no glass containers?
Most importantly, CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF, even I know that, as a newby.

  20. You can bring glass if you must, just pour it in a cup. Not everyone drinks 50 cent beers like me!

They dont want glass all over the lakebed.

  21. Sometimes the meet stops due to wind in the afternoon, so if you're going for a day, get there fairly early.

    Thanks,
    Kurt

Kurt, I had wanted to do eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. I really need help or someone to commit to helping. I could also use aid in the form of extra propane stoves, and some folding tables. I would need to know where the kitchen would be set up. Also, as they do have a food vendor, would we be stepping on toes if we had our own ? Need firm commitment if this if it is to happen. I would plan for breakfast around 7:30 on Sunday. I can also donate some of my salsa and chips. If this is too much, I can just make a large pot of chili. Some one could volunteer to do hot dogs ?

I'll see you guys out there. If anyone wants a tour of my "junkyard" at Callaways, just let me know, it's a fun place! A couple of HAMBers are picking up cars anyway. See my parts store post, if you need anything let me know so I can be ready to dig it out for you.

Bobby Green, I'll be looking for ya.

I'll be there with all the Wheel Tramps, as usual. I'll be doing motorcycle tech for the first time on Fri & racing the BSA on Sat & Sun. Jet Fuel will be racing his RS250 also.

And bring more liquid than you think you'll need. The desert sucks the moisture right out of your body. Last weekend I drank a lot of beer & gatorade yet hardly pissed at all.

Looks like it will be a nice weekend, not too hot.

use weather.com and select adelanto for the city. mapquest should recognize El Mirage CA.
