He guys and gals,

I need a local set of eyes to look at a car for me. It's an early FED and I would like to have someone eyeball it for me before I fly out there myself. It's sixty miles north of Bakersfield. I will pay for your time and gas. Anyone able to help me out? LMK.

hey doc, i am in monterey bay area, but tomorrow i am going to chowchilla to race..it is about 1/2 hour or so from fresno... maybe i can take a look ?? where is it at?

Hey guys, the car is in Porterville. The guy is kind of evasive on the phone and he won't send me any pics. He said that he has done so in the past and that it wasted his time. I told him I wasn't a flake, but he really didn't want to send pics. I guess he thinks I'm a tire kicker. He said he would be happy to let someone look at it in person. He's kinda grumpy, but I don't want that to stand in the way of a good find. There is one pic of the car in the latest GG gazette (classifieds). '60 Chassis research FED with '56 OLDS engine and Scott injection. He says it was in the NHRA museum. I sure would like someone to look at it before I take time off to fly out to Cali. if possible. I can supply his number to anyone who can make arrangements to go see it. My number is 318-773-5998.

FYI, but keep bumping your request...from gleening the classifieds I've noticed 3 or 4 different guy/gals from Porterville...might try an "advanced search" in the market place section for Porterville, then PM them.

I'd do it, but it's 3 hours from me.

I live in Bake town and will check it out if Sammartin72 can't get to it. It will make a nice little trip for me. I can snap a few photos and send them to you. It will be a couple of days though as I am at the Western Nats this weekend thus this is my days off ad I have to recover/sober up and work sometime before the next day off.

Just made the flight arrangements and I'm Cali bound tomorrow to go look at the FED. I'll be in town Friday if any local HAMBers want to get together for a beer and a bite( I'm buying). The seller also has a dodge underslung ('25 I think) that I'm trying to talk him out of. Both cars look pretty cool from the pics. 318-773-5998
