As I was finishing up the installation of the 9" rear end under my '29 Model AA truck (Dubble A), I got to thinking about an Army style Duece-and-a-half bed that I know of, and was contemplating how it would actually look on the back of my truck. I'm thinking with the size of the bed sides, and the way it is made that it would look almost like it belongs on this truck. I'm sure I'd have to cut it down some and section it to make it fit my frame and rails, but I'd like to see how it fits and looks prior to attempting to track down the owner of the thing. If someone could, please take a duece-and-a-half bed and proportion it to sit correctly on my frame. I don't have the best full on side picture of my truck. I don't have a great picture of my Dubble A from the side, as the best side view still has the original flatbed on it and looks like ****, and is even still on my flatbed car trailer. Anyway, here's my Dubble A. I'd like to have the bed not extend past the ends of the frame rails too much, as I'm still contemplating having it act as a dump bed - for show only. I've also included a picture of a completed truck from the AA forum website - just in case that one could be shopped too. Thanks in advance for your help!
I gotta tell you it might look pretty cool but they are ot that comfortable! Sorry man... I couldn't resist!
That's cute. I slept on one many times while I was in the USAF. Then again, we also slept in some of the best hotels while the grunts were out on those beds!
This is the style bed, although the color on it ****s! It is also longer than hell, but it could probably have a full section chopped out of the center of it to fit properly. Thanks!
BAAAHAHAHA! Another laugh out loud, spit my tea all over the keyboard moment from the HAMB. Excellent!
Heres a quickie with the middle section taken out of the Army bed. Added a hood and wheels to keep perspective.
