ok. so i got my new car. i love it. i've been driving it like crazy for about the last 2 weeks. everything seems to be in working order except for a small rad. leak. i've yet to drive it for more then 30 mins at a time. so should i take the 2 hour adventure drive to philly? am i just being a wuss?
Go for it. Almost everyone will stop to help an old car in trouble, besides there are about a zillion car guys in PA ones bound to drive by.
Philly is going to be well over 400 murders this year. Make sure you break down before you get to Philly. -Chris
no it was a bit over my head, and one car led to another yet to another. but i guess thats how it goes.
Why that might take away from the potential kick ass break down story we all could laugh about here on the HAMB Seriously, fix the leak and go like hell.
breakdown on the way to the jalopy showdown and im sure someone will help you out. oh and the countdown begins today .19 days
that's a pretty nice looking heap. if you get in a jam near phila, here's my cell number: (267) 240-4692. i'm not much of a mechanic and i'm pretty busy, but i'll try to do what i can to help. ed
spike, it came from california i road in this last night...i dont see why it would have any troubles...unless the bungee cords let loose
haha well thanks guys for the vote of confidence! i have a relatively safe place to park when i get to where i'm headed, so im not worried about that so much... i'm pretty sure im gonna do it! so im gonan have fun with it and take lots of pics.
my buddy goes to school at univ of philly, which i guess is considered north philly? i'd be down for meeting some people. i plan on leaving my house early friday.
If you are going to Philly I hope you have a carry permit, and bring a gun. Other than that a AAA card is good to have, as they have a 100 mi. tow available.
Definitely do it ... with an SBC your risk is limited. From Long Island, I've driven my '60 with the leaky ol' 223 six cylinder to Pennsylvania and back twice, 3 hours each way, as well as to Boston and back, 5 hours each way.
