Hey so I was browsing around yesterday at pepboys and saw some autshifters and was wondering if anyone is using one or has used one? They are pretty cheap so i was thinking about picking one up. Any info would be great thanks
Yeah, they work fine. It's essentially the same thing as a Hurst Indy'matic. I've used both, and I find the quality of the Hurst better for sure, but both work fine

Thats a manual not an auto. I have used the one from Pep boys, its ok, but kinda sucks cuz its cheap. Whatev. If you are using an AOD you have to (or should) use a shifter that works with an AOD, Lokar makes one. $200 or so, but it works.
I used one on a 26-T I built two years ago. It was OK but just that, a lot of extra parts for installation depending on your application
thanks guys ill be keeping my eye out. if i cant figure out a way to hook up my 3 on the tree to shift my auto trans ill be getting one of these = )
But...arent you using an AOD? No work w/ aod....hmm I can see the thread now..."Help, I didnt read the back of the package!" haha.
I picked my hurst up for 50.00 new. The only problem with either is that there is no reverse lockout. I don't have a problem I just don't excited when I shift, but if that's a concern you mabe should look toward the B&M its a little higher but at least it has detents to help you not screw up.
Like he said.....................I have one in the 54. No reverse lockout and no positive detents, you use the detents in the tranny. I paid $30 and it was $40 too much. Save up for a real shifter.
yeah im using a AOD dont worry though ill make sure I get the right one = ) im pretty sure I wont need one anyways.
i used a hurst promatic to replace my old hurst V-matic and i liked it..needed to move it plus i HATED having to grab onto those rings when i switched gears! creepy
