I have a sbc that is going in the 52 PONTIAC Canadian built.

I have a set of 57 canadian pontiac scripted valve covers used on northern Pontiacs only ( they had sbc Engines).

I plan to use a 327 intake with the oil fill in the intake. I am thinking of 60s blue or 50s green that pontiacs painted the Engines.

What else can I do to make it a little different such as air cleaners or maybe alum water pump or moom eyes timing cover??
Something funky for an aircleaner? any ideas??

I kinda want people to do a double take when they see the motor.

I have to s**** the billet **** that came with the Engine.

    Thanks

Theres this car club, the Road Rats, and they do some WILD things.

One guy uses a headlight bucket as an air cleaner, and the other uses an old german helmet.

    Just ideas.

A "motor" is electrical...I've never put valve covers on an electrical engine nor dressed up one of them...

An "engine" is something you put in an auto...an SBC IS an engine... dress it in little flowered dresses and a nice bonnet if you like...

    Sorry
Maybe it it just a canuck thing from the colonies.
I have had folks south of the boarder correct me on that before.
I just can't help myself, but I am trying.
    I stand corrected.

I actually thought you were right until I looked up the definition:

There is a wide variety of ways to dress up your MOTOR. I think it largely depends on what 'theme' or look you're after. I personally like the idea of using traditional stock colours and old valve covers, even adapting an old oil bath style air cleaner might be cool - ditching the billet krap is a good start.

Does someone make a 3-deuce setup for the SBC?

uh you can get edelbrock, offenhuaser, and numerous others through summit or streamline, probably many others. Summit has fair prices, but you'd be supporting a big box and putting out the little guys...

  9. Even 6x2 is fairly common, and 8x2 is available from H.A.M.B.er Sellers.

  10. The finned aluminum timing cover does look cool, but mine wouldn't fit even with the long water pump.(the water pump pretty much obscures it from view, anyway, so if it did fit it isn't really worth the $$$.)

I have to use a short pump

Something that looks like an oilbath cleaner is cool.
I have a paper filter in my 57 283 chev oil bath cleaner.

Maybe a old ss pot that I could make into one. There is lots of room under the hood.

Are the alum finned water pumps worth the money or should I stay with a factory cast one. My goal is to have something that makes people do a double take with being over the top.

    Keep the ideas coming.
    thanks
    guys

He is right, but you can never tell what definition you might get from a computer based dictionary.
