Whats really wrong with 4 doors?

Four Doors Are Cool On Wagons, Lincolns, Model A's And A Couple Of Other Types. But Most Four Door Cars Had Longer Passenger Compartments Or Longer Roofs. Or At Least It Looks That Way. Nothing Wrong With Some Four Door But Most Are Just Funny Looking.

 

this is just MY opinion.

2 doors = Cool!
4 door cars = Not for me.
2 door wagons = Cool!
4 door wagons = OK!

That sums it up. They never were cool, anyone who says so either wasn't there "back in the day" or is full of it. More are on the road cause of a lack of two doors, period. Call it what you want but untill all of us old dudes are dead a four door is my old man's car.

 

4-Doors means people are always asking for rides!!!!!!!!!!!!

yep, im the guy that cut the chit outta his 55 chevy 4-door. Personally, I like 4-doors, it took a long time for me to decide to convert to a 2-door. Mainly because i already have a 57 chevy 2-door, and i REALLY like things to match, its kind of a mental disorder. But, if i had my choice, id take a 4-door hardtop over a 2-door sedan, cuz those things are just too cool! I think it boils down to what car youre trying to build. For me, i am doing a "traditional" early 60's custom. and back then, any custom worth its sap was a 2-door...so. but yea, no hating on the 4-doors here...cuz it cuts down on the gymnastics when your buddies pile into your car!

I love and have a four door Merc! Why do I want to be like every other merc and have a 1950 2 door flat black with a desoto grill? lol they all look the same. FOUR DOORS RULE lol

 

EXACTLY !!! 4 doors are family cars, NOT HOT RODS, never will be!! 4 Doors are for lazy people who didn't want to search out or save up enough money to get that same car they wanted in a 2 door version.

I've seen the same story all the time: "well my grandmother left me this 4 door so I made it into this hot rod....blah blah blah"... it's more like, you should have sold that car and got a 2 door version, but you were too lazy....

There is a whole 5 acres of rust free Tri-5 2 DOOR Chevy's still for sale in southern Utah, there's no need to waste your time with a 4 door...... plenty of 2 doors still out there. Go find one!!!

 

4 doors are too heavy, just like 4 seats all 5 of my cars are Black 2 seaters- only way to go

 

I disagree here!!

I had two 36 Chevy sedans, one two door and one fourdoor! I sold the two door because I find the proportions better on the four door, and I really like the cool suicide reardoors!!

We are just talking doors here, as I find the 36 Chevy coupe cooler than my four doors -but thats bodystyles!!

There's not a DAMN thing wrong with a 4-door car...
I've got 3 of 'em...

Helluva lot cheaper to get into than a 2-door... That's for sure!

Great option for those of us on a budget!

Perhaps you should use the search feature.....there was a thread about this same topic like two weeks ago, it was as pointless then as it is now.

ie.

Some people don't like 4 doors, some people like them.


Maybe someone should start a "whats traditional" thread again...thats always good for 4 or 5 pages.

 

You are referring to the post on 04-17-2007 where the topic was about pictures of four doors.

I am asking for opinions about four doors. I am sorry i even brought up this topic now.

 

too many god damn posts on 4 doors, thats why only hardtop 4 doors look alright

I am sorry. I didn't mean to rub any one the wrong way, We all get sick of the 4 door posts yes. Buts its still nice for me any way to get a fresh perspective from the people who have recently joined this site.

I will now sit back and let the thread gracefully die and wither away as another unnecessary and unneeded "not another 4 door post"

 

You've got 3, 4 drs and your claiming you've got them because of budget issues?????????? I would guess the cost of the 3 was more than 1, 2 dr. So tell me why it's more budget friendly to have 3 4drs than it is to have 1, 2 dr

 

4 doors are for families. If your building a custom family car then go for it. But, it will never re-sale and will never be as cool as a two door. So, my advice is dont dump a lot of money and time into a four door unless you are never going to sell it and dont care about being the coolest.

 

4 doors = Family car

Actually, 30's fourdoors are pretty neat...but my hypocracy only goes so far.
