Very killer find there you two, couldn't have happened to nicer folks...I can't wait to see more pics of this baby getting put back to its glory days...so I must beg the question, hemi or flatty? Either way it'll be a *****in' ride...congrats, and good luck with the do***entation and rebuilding...

Neat find ... they are still out there.
I have worn out 2 or 3 trucks going to look at 32's that ended up being a wild goose chase. But every now and then ...
    PAY DIRT

Doors are not all that difficult to find ... compared to some 32 Ford stuff. At least you have most of the good stuff

    Congratulations ...
from a fellow Deuce Roadster owner ... :D

I dont think this roadster is part of any other story told in public.
We were talking about installing a Heavily built Y block in it.
But Matt is torn about installing the hemi but time and money is the problem here. Either way the hemi and Roadster will never part.
I am so happy for Matt. It'll be in good hands.
Not only a 32 but one with a do***ented history and parts to prove it. Plans are to keep the patina'd paint recover the seats the same and thats all that it needs.
    Parts....??
teasers.... NOS teacup heads. With Merc heads still in cosmolene.
Cars?? old jags and A400's .....stuff still to be unearthed..

I should have taken more pics but it all happened so fast and I was way too stoked to remember to take pics. The engine is the big question right now. We really wanted to put it back the way it was but after hearing it came out of Cali with a Flatty and drove like **** with a Hemi, maybe we shouldn't put the Hemi back in. Matt's always had a thing for Y-blocks, that is what was in the bucket (RIP 8.6.2006). He recently got a pretty hopped up Y-block and thinks maybe it should go in there since the car already has a '56 Ford Fairlane ****** (which had a Y-block as well). I of course would love to see a Flatty in there though. I guess time will tell. The big thing is we really want to have it done and driving pretty quick. We are not going to do things half-*** or anything but we don't have the winter to fix her up like we usually do projects like this.

A fun fact: I don't know if you can tell by the pics or not but the seats were white with purple(!) inserts. We thought they were red and faded but they were actually purple! Came out of Cali that way and he never changed it. A red roadster with purple seats, odd!

That's rad! It gives me hope that one day I may find one for myself.

But if you don't put either a Flathead or Hemi back in it, I'm going to come up there and kick you both squarely in the ***! :)

It came with a 392ci Hemi. It is whole new ball game for all of us. None of us are very versed in Hemis. There is one sitting on the floor of the shop right now (56 desoto...356ci maybe?) we were contemplating putting in a '29 2dr sedan but hadn't really got around to investigating too much on them yet.
Trust me, if I have my way it will have at least a Flatty, if not a Hemi :)

Awesome car, awesome story, awesome deal. Something would just feel right about working thru the install bugs that plagued it 40 years ago. By finishing what was started, it's history is still pure. Hemi.

    Good luck with the project

Megan, I kinda thought you might lead a charmed life when I heard how you came out of the crash with the t-bucket. Now, paste that 4 leaf clover to the windshield of the '32 and get it on the road.
I hope I see you and Matt somewhere down the road and get a picture of you both with that roadster.

    Holy Cattle!

put the hemi in it, then fix the stuff that made it hard to drive.

it couldn't possibly be that hard!
and if ya don't know anything about Hemi's...well, now you have all the stuff you need to learn about Hemi's with!
