IMO..the best thing to do to a four-door is reverse or "suicide" the back set of doors..really cool on 4D stationwagons..can anyone turn me on to the thread/post on how-to?..thanks

  4. I did it on my '34 with an aftermarket hidden hinge kit, not too tough. The thread is in my signature below.

Good Lord, will this never end? Forward opening rear doors on four-door vehicles don't count!!
Pretty much nothing counts on a four-door unless you're under 30 years of age and haven't had the prejudice ingrained into you by decades of magazine propaganda and carguys belittling anything with four doors.
And, making the rear opening doors of a four-door into forward opening doors is ample evidence that you just don't have anything better to do with your time.

You're right..its just a desperate attempt to make an old four-door somehow look cool..I should just give it to widows/orphans or set fire to it..I'm going to come out of the closet and admit I also own a Nash Metropolitan..

I was thinking more of my 56 Chevy 210 wagon with funny doors and 56 Packard tailights...

  9. Do the rear doors have a cut-out where the rear wheel is? If so, you'll need really strong hinges, because they'll be very close together. Just a thought.

this brings up a pet peeve, guys that leave their "suicided" door popped open at shows.
    so !@#$ing what?
customs and hot rods, look dumb with doors left open.
its the proverbial 5 year old jumping up and down "look at me, look at me I have suicide doors!"

    big woop!

save your work for mods that count, chopped tops, channeling, sectioning, etc...
with the doors closed they all look the same.
its a 4 door, shave the door handles and perform a modification that counts.

    What did I miss?
Are you being sarcastic? (I'm guessin' you are)

Since when do the opinions of the typical penny loafer wearin', cali duster toting, gold chainers govern what we should or shouldn't build as hotrodders?

If you leave the handles on and reconfig the rear handles to actually work, I think it would look cool. And you wouldn't have to leave your doors open at car shows.

    Anyhoo....
Here is a pic of a 55 mo-do with rear "forward opening doors"
    No, it's not mine:rolleyes:
Why suicide the doors if you're going to shave the handles?

I did this little doodle for some fellas on the shoeboxford.com forum.
    Same idea, with a twist;
take a Mordor and rape it of its top, then suicide the rear doors.

Could be cool if done right.

I think if you do it and remove the B pillar, then it would be cool, just one huge opening when the doors are open. Really fits a "luxo" custom type ride

Suicide doors rock and good lord their all old cars no matter what!

  16. Hmmmmm, it's your car-do anything you want with it, if you think it's cool. "Mods that count" are any that you feel good about and satisfy yourself. Then you tell everyone that disagrees, "Thanks, now go away with your one-sided opinion"
