does any body know if the cab on a 55 chevy 6 wheel dump-truck would be the same as a standard 1/2 ton pickup?

somebody just put a complete 55 dump for sale, fairly clean, with a running 350 for $500, i was thinking about buying it and mating the cab to a first gen s-10 frame and finding a p/u bed for it if its the same as a 1/2ton cab.

first series or second series? and what kind of a dump truck is it? they have numbers on them....or find the vin, it should have a number/letter in it that will tell you.

on the second series (55-59) trucks, the 5000 series cabs are different, but the rest of them are mostly the same.

Should be the same, you'll find a lot of extra holes in the firewall and floor most likely.

The only one that is way different is the 5000 which is a COE

i just went to check it out, and it is actually a '57 gmc. it isn't a 5000 series, its just a standard p/u cab. and comes with a 56 gmc parts truck thats basically just a shell, but ill take it for $500, hell i can probably get half that back selling just the 350 thats already in it.
