May 2007 Houston HAMB Cruze "Night"...afternoon

This coming Sunday is the first Sunday of May 2007, which can mean only one thing.... You are going to Jimmy's Place for the Houston HAMB Cruze Night.


Place: Jimmy's Place Ice House on Whiteoak blvd. (on the other side of heights blvd. this street is called 6th street)

Time: Starts at 2:00 in the afternoon and lasts as long as it takes

Attire: Clean OK but Greezy preferred

At***ude: Cool, of course

All are welcome, plenty of parking, show up in a hot rod if ya can and if you can't don't worry about it, just show up. Only requirement is a love of old hot rod cars and bikes. I anticipate a few Brit bikes and some members of the Ton Up Club will be there also.

I just looked up the location, and Now I remember where Jimmy's is. It's that small place right across the street from Fitzgeralds. Man, that place has been there for years.
I've got a lunch date at 2pm, after that I'll see if the boss lady wants to ride down there.

oh yeah, And we'll be there in the 52, looks like the only ones in a car. I been trying to get the los cochinos guys out and they said they are coming this weekend, so, we'll see.

Is on WhiteOak which is about 6-8 blocks south of were youre thinking.

I hope you dont use Bright Metals. Gus has ruined enough old parts to make any vintage speed part guy cringe. Make it to Jimmy's and I'll tell you all about mine and a couple others experiences with them.

This may help.

If you are going into the Heights on Montrose. You will p*** under 10, and go over the bayou. The very first intesection is Montrose (Studemont) and White Oak....You turn left here. Jimmy's is on your left hand side in about one block. It is an old ice house that has been there for ever and a day. Plenty of parking around it and a main shack where beer is sold and they often have free BBQ when we are there.

coming from conroe, 45 south, take I10 west and exit heights/yale , go right on heights, then right on 6th/white oak. Ice house is down a few blocks on the right.

For some reason, I thought this was taking place on Saturday. The wife and I showed up at Jimmy's about 4:30 Sat afternoon, and saw no one. We thought that everyone had left already. We headed out early this morning to go watch some drag racing up near Temple, TX.
Oh, well. I guess there's next time.

 

Lucky Strike left way early as the parking lot ended up totally full with rods. Crazy good time! See you guys again next month.
