I think I will p*** on the Compton stop, I'm guessing that is not him. But I could be wrong...

Ya, I'm going to drive it a 1/2 mile to my trailer right after I WATCH the boys build it while I paint my nails.:D

NOT! I would love to have it done to drive to Billetproof but that is really really soon. I think the Cinematic would be more realistic. Sorry GMC pick up you've been delayed by a Deuce!

    hahaha, that's great! good story......

    oh, have to add this...

    restore it!

no, leave it the way it is and drive it, don't change a thing (i'll have to put a motor in it you idiot!)

    run that hemi!

put that flatty back in it....

put an ardun in it, everyone's doing it....

    you ****!

i wish you were closer, oh wait, it isn't for sale...

if it were mine, i'd [chop it, channel it, paint it green, make it old skool....]

my brother had one just like that but it was a 38 chevrolet 4 door....and i think it was blue.......

ah, if you find out any more info, post it here for us to read...

    un-****ing-real....

stick the y-block you've got in it so you can drive it, then start building the hemi to put in it so you can get it to what the last owner had envisioned for it. That's what I'd do at least!

Congrats on the Barn find..........and pix of the Ardun roadster? Also, start putting the word out that you are looking for a running Flathead and you will be amazed at what shows up.

great story...made me think of some of my stories, except they never end up like yours...love the history, look quick for the original builder, every day counts..bought a original custom from 51 a few years ago, found the guy who built it in Oklahoma, just as he was about to go to the VA hospital for probably the last time...his wife told me he was in bad shape, but we had a good long talk about it...I've always been glad I didn't give up on the search for the guy

Great work. That's how you find that kind of stuff. Working at it and following every lead, no matter how stupid or how far fetched it may sound. That is how you got so "lucky".

    Congratulations.

There's nothing like living everybody's dream - and I thought becoming a father was exciting.

Sounds like it couldn't have gone to a better home - Congrats!

That is too cool! I don't even have that kind of luck with my car that I already own! Treat her right, she's history! Crash.

What a great car and story to go with it! Have you checked the cl***ified adds in 1959 issues of Hot Rod? Maybe the car was advertized there. Nice to find stuff good enough to keep as is.

Megan hasnt told you yet about the aluminum bodied speedsters yet. 2 of them with 60 hp flattys and speed equipment to boot.
I bet with the 32 excitement she forgot unless I missed that post.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I don't have any kids but I imagine that finding this car and bringing her home is comparative.

We are slowly working our way out of shock and formulating a plan. For now I think we will put the Y-block in it because of the two biggest constraints for all hot rodders-- time and money.
As you can see, it is red. The paint is in really good shape and should clean up really well. Our friend who is a painter thinks he can match the paint fairly easy for the doors. The suspension components that are chrome were all cosmolened or something to preserve them and clean up really easy. I think the first step will be to box the frame and start working on some motor mounts. We are going to re-do the seat in the same pattern (but this time in red and white, not purple!). Maybe if we work really hard everyday we could have it done for Billetproof. I did feel pretty inspired to get to work yesterday when I got the flyer in the mail.

The guy was also into midget cars so there is some aluminum sheetmetal parts laying around plus Flathead 60s stuff. I did get a body for one. Not sure why, but I thought it was cool. Hopefully I'll be able to snag an engine and a ch***is down the road.

One question though...those of you who have found '32s like this or other significant cars how do you feel afterwards? I feel like no find will ever be exciting again, like I have peaked at 25! I hope that is not the case. I think I have that post-whatever disease woman have after giving birth!
