Hi, can some one give me the spec's for a 1949-53 Ford side valve manual transmission drive shaft yoke, dia length etc. Do other yokes fit this early trans or can they be modified to fit. Thanking you
It's a 16 tooth spline and around 1-1/2" OD where it fits in the seal. I think some 60's powerglide yokes are the same. They are available new I think here in the states.
PM FortyFordGuy on here (Mac VanPelt). He and I just discussed this last week. We were looking for one for our HA/GR car but I found one from another HAMBer with the driveshaft and it's in the mail now. Mac told me a racing supply place here in Ohio that has them. Here's Macs website in case you want to see some flatty stuff or e-mail him: http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_home.htm
Phil . I believe a 46-48 1/2 ton truck is the same . I had to search around and found a couple dif years work . Early power glide will work it's just a little long. You can adjust that .
