Has anyone tried to use the cheapie 32 Ford Taiwan firewall that is for sale on the net? Bought one just in case I couldn't locate a good original and it looks good . Heard that they even fit pretty good. Does anyone have any actual experience with fitting one of these to a Brookville roadster body? Just bought a Vintique grille shell and would like to use it with a Walker radiator with stock trim. Does anyone know if everything ends up in the right place. Might put a hood on the car and would like to avoid a bunch of problems if they exist. I am new the HAMB and really enjoy the community.

I've been thinking about replacing my badly butchered original as well. Where did you get yours and how much was it?

Fatrodder sells them for a wide variety of prices, paid 419.00 for mine but they also had them listed for 519.00. When I asked what the difference was the sales rep told me about a hundred bucks- stupid me!

I thought about one of those, but seems like they all have this extra recess in them, which didnt appeal to me. I have a original but its not that good.

They advertise them that way but they are actually just a stock copy. They seem confused about the kick out at the bottom. They have been looking at too many kit firewalls. The ad confused the hell out of me as well. The order taker was just that.

I have used several of the Hotrods & Custom Stuff repro firewalls with no problems in a Brookville body. Actually assemble the body with an original and sub the repro in later. They are a pretty nice reproduction. As for the Vintique grille shells the insert fits pretty good but the filler hole was off to the right of center about 1/4 inch.

The Taiwan 32 firewalls fit great on my stock body 32, and much better than spending much time and effort filling holes and battling rust. Brookville firewalls are flattened shape so original toeboard cannot be used.

  8. I bought one from Fatrodder off Ebay. Mine was $399 with $50 shipping. It bolted right into my Fordor body.

    It looks & fits great.

How much is the Brookville? Something like $895 or so? I can't imagine that it is $500 better than what I have here.
