Flat black is not a color, it happens to be the color of the sealer some cars are put into before final paint. This car here is a traditional custom, late 40's style, I don't think flat black is in the cards.

Great job Jim, I can't get over that car, it looks better and better everytime you touch it. Keep it up, if ya need some help let me know where I can lend a hand.

just got home from another full day of filler and longboard sanding and sanding, and sanding, and sanding,,,
thanks for all the feedback,,means a lot from you guys,,,
as far as color goes,,,the car will probably be in flat black (sealer) for this summer,,,i plan to use it that way until the fall when i will prep it for a paint job,,,,colors im considering are dark red, dark blue, maroon, eggplant.....really can't decide yet,,,,,,,,

Dura- block makes some great sanding blocks for long curved surfaces. Check them out. They fit the curves on your car better than a longboard.

The car is looking awsome. Amazing how it all seems to come togeather once you shoot some primer and sling some mud on it. Cant wait to see it in color. Itll be here before you know it.

    Keep up the good work

    I wouldn't use "mud".

    Autobody polyester filler works better.

    Looking good, Cornholio!

  26. useing the term "mud" shows our age, thats what we called bondo 35 years ago. anyways , i'm going to K.K.O.A. Gettysburg, hope to see the Cad there. It's ***s!!!

Just a term used to describe laying body filler over the entire car or an entire panel, then sanding it flat.... Instead of just covering the small parts that need it.
To be honest, I don't know where I picked up the word, it just seem to stick.
