Here's some pictures of an old hot rod that showed up at the Rhinebeck, NY car show. I didn't get any details...maybe somebody could shed some light?

I'm thinking those are just the faux Ardun covers. I don't see the water outlets.

Edit: which makes me wonder. Since I didn't see it in person. but you can see where the rust has eaten away the lower cowl. So its got to be a steel survivor. Cool E&J's as well.
I'm intrigued. And more pics, anyone?

There were so many people swarming around this thing...it took quite a while just to get a few clear shots with the camera....and I didn't get a chance to chat with the owner.

It's no "fake" barn find....that faded, peeling and rusty paint job is the "real deal". I didn't look the engine over close..but I'd be surprised if the Arduns were "dummies". Wheels and tires looked brand new.

    Speechless... drool...

I can't help but wonder if someone built that to look like an old hot rod... or if it was built like that back in the day.

As far as the Ardun covers... it looks like 4 exhaust ports to me...so I dunno? Either way that is one of the coolest cars I've seen in a long time.

Those heads are the real deal. They are the type that has the water outlet at the top front of the head. Check the rad. hose and follow it.

Four exhaust ports, front water outlets.... looks like a real ARDUN. If not, someone went to alot of trouble to fake it... that car looks gennie to me.

A survivor, sure, as it is, maybe (except all the new stuff, spark wires with 45 degree boots, bright copper fuel line coming up firewall, etc.), E&J lamps, don't think so.

Replace the headlights with some '34 Commercials and you have the perfect car.

Neat car. Cool collection of parts. But if we're being completely honest, I think it looks faked. I don't really care, because like I said it's a pretty cool car... but it's missing a level of "sameness" between the parts or something. If I'm wrong, then I'm a numbnuts. Even if I'm right, I'm a numbnuts. But that's just my perception. And if that really is a barn find Deuce three window with an Ardun equipped flathead and E&J headlights, well it's just sad that there have been so many faux barn finds that every one is greeted with skepticism.

ARDUN heads have 4 exhaust outlets, thats why your seeing four, remember the exhausts on an ARDUN head now exit out of the head like any ohv head. the flathead ones in the block get covered up.

    here,

check this out if you dont believe me.

EASILY! the heads alone go for what? over $10k, right? a 3 window body in that shape goes for how much?? not to mention everything else. i bet it's worth well over $60k in parts alone then add to that that that it is a true survivor and a complete running car. i'd see it going for easily a buck twenty at auction. just my opinion though.

My guess is that this is one of those cars that was used as a daily driver back in the fifties .It might have had a 24 stud & juice brake - update back then , but other than that , it was more or less stock.
The guy who owns it today have added the Ardun-engine , the dropped headlight-bar & Jordans . The front-fenders have been repainted after some repairwork. The rear-end is wider than stock `32 , so it might be ca `40 ford.
Did you get pix of the interior ?
    Anyways : I LOVE it !!!

Yeah this coupe left me speechless as well. The thing was far beyond being a fake, just way to many areas of rust angrime that if it was a fake then someone went to the extreme to pull it off. I agree that it is worth far more than $60 k, Hell from seeing it in person I wouldn't be surprised if it is worth $120 and above just because of what it is.

How do you think he got it running? New wires are not a bad thing.

Whats wrong witht the E & J's...one of the most sought after set of headlights available.

Sweet fo sho, a nice Sunday morning lesson on Ardun motors, that they have 4 exhaust ports like other overheads. The staggered 4-pot manny is way cool as well. This is about the most interesting machine I've seen in a while. That Lil flat black coupe is also a hot cl***ic, red wheels, black walls, very unpretensious, and still BAD ***. Thanx for sharing this great stuff bros._Sololobo
