I was curious if anyone on here had their car in a movie. I had my 1953 Mercury Convertible in the film Liberty Heights in 1998. Anyone else have their car in a movie or tv show?
My 41 Chrysler was in a film and I was paid as an extra. The movie was filmed on location in Cincinnati back in 91 or 92. The movie was called "The Public Eye" starring Joe Pesci and Barbara Hershey. BUT...... all the scenes with my Chrysler and I ended up on the cutting floor. It was a ball hanging out on the set and made a little too.
Forgot the name of if, but my 58 chevy was suppose to be in a movie, got paid 200 bucks to do nothing so I hope i can do it again
Had my car in a bunch of commercials, videos, and a movie--"Lost Highway"--drove 100 mile in the rain for the shoot--then they cut the scene. www.nationwidepicturecars.com
I had a 57 Ford custom 300 that was suppose to be in the movie Mississippi Burning,..... struggled through watching the move and never did see it.
My '57 Ford Rachero was in the 1978 surf movie "Big Wednesday" when I was a kid, my dad use to make money with it all the time for back ground. Then it was given to me and I was payed for it to be in the movie Prizzi's Honor in 1985. I use to do some extra work in the mid 80's, ok money when you could get the work. CBB
My 51 chevy was in a Movie in the early 90's it was called, I will never get to heaven, and you see my car several times in the movie, they paid me $200.00 per day I think I was 17 at the time, I was there for 5 days pretty good money for a 17 year old, and it was really cool.... John
My dad's '57 chevy was in a Bill Murray movie called "Larger than Life" about an elephant I think. (I only saw it once) They used his car parked in front of a circus tent for black and white "50's" photos in the film.
Ha. Funny coincidence, my T is going to be in some British Band's music video tonight. Background car - no driving
I had a couple cars in the weekly series CHIPS years ago. And my blue Willys was flagged down to be in a Snoop Dog movie i was driving past near my shop. Also, a street race movie filmed at OCIR years ago that was supposed to be called Riders on the Storm. I heard it aired under a different name. Also, i bought e 65 ElCamino from Hollywood Knights. The one that got towed when the star of the movie(WTF's his name?) was borrowing it without permission
not too related but my f150 is in a show called saints and sinners on tv now. it's on that new channel my network tv.
i have been in quite a few movies and tv shows,,back in the early 90's(i was a professional extra)....the closest any of my cars have gotten to TV was when my 56 was on hotrod tv for like 1.5 seconds,,,,but,,i live in BFE now and i dont get out to any where....
My Green 49 Ford coupe was supposed to be in some Period movies. But I think the staff used it to go for pizza, or it went down a back alley at night time...We'll see when Hairspray (John Travlolta) opens supposedly sometime this month. Tex
Closest I ever got was in the movie "Dance me outside" when they used the prostock scoop off of one of my cars. They stuck it on a BMW that was stolen in the movie. The movie mainly took place on an Indian reserve so I wasn,t surprised at what they did with it.
I had a '57 Olds that was in "A Perfect World". It was in a scene with Clint Eastwood. I also have a wife that was in "The Newton Boys". She's still getting royalties for it!
my merc was at super dawg? on the north side of chicago[with a previous owner] when they filmed 16 candles but the complete drive-in scene was edited. sure would like to see that! showrod
I love that movie. Robert Wuhl, he was great as Newbomb Turk, but his brother, played by Demetre Phillips, was awful. The El Camino was really nice, though.
When I was in high school, my 57 Ford Custom 300 was filmed for the fictional Elvis movie, Heartbreak Hotel. They closed down a big bridge in downtown Cleveland, put 1972 plates on all our cars, and even paid us well for driving next to a pink 59 Caddy all night with the actors in it. I told everyone I knew, and when it finally came out, the scene was replaced with a distant night view that only showed headlites. At least I got paid.
The 39 was in the second version of "Gone in 60 Seconds". Got pretty good money for it. (15K) Still have the glove box with all the main actors signatures. Craig
My 58 Brookwood was used on the HBO series "From the Earth to the Moon". I sat in my car for 2 hours at the end of the street and got paid $275. When it was editing time that scene never made it. I helped build the MTV "Who`s the Man" hydraulic cop car. I told the guys how to build it. It`s nice to be the boss. lol.
my chevy came out in a cheesy hotrod movie made by a USC film student for his senior project. It was called the search for runaround-sue, in like 2000-2001. It was supposed to be like a 50's-60's B movie. It was cool, because My old band also came out in it. I think I got paid $60 and free pizza. I was fun.
back in 85/86 the producers of the movie Cherry 2000, came on my lot and just HAD to rent this 74 4door nova I had(for a week). Told them 400.00 (car was worth about 150 bucks). They rent it. Great. Now it gets returned.... driver unloads it and I notice some sand falling out of the rear bumper. I ask him what's up and he tells me it was a lot worse before he CLEANED IT. Seems he couldn't load it at first because the whole thing was full of sand, right up to the top of the doors. Story is they buried the damn thing in the desert. Dug a big hole, shoved it in and covered it up. Racked the whole damn car, thing couldn't even sit level. Glad I got the 400, or it would have been a total fuckin. Never saw the movie, but I do hope one of the producers was in the thing when it got buried. If I could have found them, they would have been.
Sold my 1979 IHC Scout to Paramount for the Steven King movie "Dreamcatcher" Got $1000.00 more than I paid for her. Shawn
About two months ago Flower and I went out to dinner at a fancy local restaurant, we were in her roadster. When we pulled up in front of the place she parked at the curb and noticed as she backed the hot rod into the parking place.....a boom camera was at her back window following her in. Then we noticed all the cameras, lights and crew running around. They were filming a cable TV program called Kitchen Nightmares (never saw an episode myself). The head guy was some guy named Gordon and he was kind of a jerk. Anyway we ate, had a nice meal in spite of roaming boom cameras and crap and when it was time to leave they asked if they could film us hauling ass away from the curb.....cool enough, we did it. I guess this episode is supposed to air in the fall......we'll probably end up on the cutting room floor too.
When they used our car we made them buy it we never switched the title but made them sign a contract saying we got first rights to buy it back when they were done. They treat those cars like shit. When we bought it back they had broken the passenger door window completely out ripped off the antenna and scratched the front fender. need less to say i was a little less than happy.
