48fordnut asked me to post these for him. He can provide the commentary. Be sure to give him plenty of **** about bringin' it to the HAMB Drags.
sorry its taken so long to post.I was painting my eng for my 28 coupe. Waiting on a fuel pump for my primer system. I hope to make Mo kan. Looking for a tow vehicle now. Back in the 50s i had another one of these it was 302 powered and ran a olds r/e same as this one. that,98''w/b, this 134''w/b. 302 chevy ,glide olds r/e,c/m ch***is ,weighs about 1000. it is built according to sema specs to 7.50 ,the ft wheels will have a set of moon disc, same as the 58 car.will be painted silver with red scallops and some stripping.oh yeah, I'm 67.
SWEET! You need to get it to MoKan so I can crawl all over it and take pics and ask all kinds of dumb questions. What injection unit are you running? What rear gear? What's your projected shift point? See, what did I tell you? r
cert to 7.50 dosen't mean it will run it. i don't have enough motor for that. but i may run a mix if i learn enough. thanks for the reply.
We can figure out the pop thing.LOL he can prolly run 25 ish% IN THE 1/8,NEEDS A BIT MORE GEAR FOR THE 1/4 unless that biatch will really wind. I need someone in the neighborhood to go halves on a barrel anyway.
Hey! I'm younger than both you old guys(not much) so I volunteer to drive it. Oh! I have experence just ask Yo Baby.
thanks for all the offers to drive. I think i will have to be the one to drive. couldn't afford the liability ins. lol. Now i'm on the hots to get it ready for march 10. Rondha hartman and her husband are putting on a nostalgia meet at silver dollar in reynolds ga. 1pm gate open. this is the nhra hartmans.big time.ps. gonna need pit help, I'm a one man operation, yo baby has volentered already.
Very cool. I wish I was your neighbor. I'd be over everyday getting in your way drooling over that thing
Unless the motor is so outta control wild ya can't drive it without killin' it one guy is all you'll need.LOL Just by the by,Ted has had some seat time. That's Mr Mac.LOL
Cool ride - question - what are the front rims and spindles from?? They've got to be pretty narrow to fit those motorcycle tires on 'er...
had to look at this one time. the ft wheels are anglia as are the spindles. I don't weld, and the car is in the shop getting the dzus fastners welded on so the body can be finished. Got it running on march 1oth, but needed some tlc. finished that and in may it was jumped on again by myself and a old fuel man. he knew what . well its runs well, about 1 ft flames out the exhaust at idle, cranks easy. should have it back by 1st of aug, then phys, and license, nhra style. went down the drive way in june for a crowd. what a hoot. thanks for all the pm's and encouragement.I won't be able to go to mokan, as much as I wanted to. the car just isn't ready. i bought a truck for my tow vehicle, but i really want a van, 85-90 ford, would like a short one. we will get it going. local wants to do a artical on me and the car, when its ready, lol.
Neat digger. We've been running a FED for years, your gonna have fun!!! Sit on a roll away and work on it, no doors, nuthin in the way. And what a blast to drive!! Nice car looking forward to hearing more. Lippy
Looks killer! I watched "Heart like a wheel" again the other night, and it kinda looks like Shirleys first dragster.
