went to an estate sale at an old farm. bought some junk and in one of the boxes were some slides. I thought these were cool. taken in 1958

I went back the next day and asked if the truck was still there and the guy said when he was 5 he was playing in it and it rolled into a ditch so they junked it

this place was all about death and mayhem to the local animals. there were stuffed heads and antlers all over the place. there was a stuffed and mounted baby deer that couldn't have been more than a few weeks old, it was all rotten and the head was gone otherwise I'd have got it.

great old farm, one of the last few remaining in the Fremont California area. not sure if the bear was local?? but the two bear pictures were taken at the farm

These pics remind me of old pictures I saw of my mother'sw relates from South Bend when they caqme up here for part of the summer. Shot everything: squirrels, rac****s, weasels, ducks, geese, coots, mudhens, etc.
Too bad they don't come back now and try the same with the dope freaks......

One of my websites contains found film from the late 40's through the 60's. I've collected undeveloped film over the years and then added some from estate sales as well. Most of the slides are just of people but there are a few that contain some older cars you guys might enjoy. I also tossed one in a bear shot for fun.

Anyway, if you're into seeing what everyone looked like aroundd the mid century, I've got well over 600 scanned slides on the site. http://www.mangofalls.com

  20. My wifes grandfather was a trapper....If you went to his place day or night you had to help skin animals or stretch pelts. The guy sure smelled bad but damn the garden grew great! Roto-tiller was always snagging bones.....

hotrodyblock, you're quite correct about most of the photos not being car related. I must have edited out a sentence that stated as much. Sorry about that.

Nice photos. I like the 37 or 38 Chevy pickup. The mule is not bad either.

That shot with the Bear in the background is pricesless. I'd like to see his reaction when he turns around and sees it. Where were video cameras and U-tube back then!

    cool old photos..

and they are directly related to what we ejoy here....cars and the history that surrounds them......

what i was thinking about looking at that truck is, when you buy and old car/truck you have NO idea what type of life it had......as the old saying goes, if only they could talk...

that bear one reminds me of the commercial where two young guys are being goofy, messing with bigfoot.....
