Here is the previous update... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=172582 It's finished, for the most part... I still need to paint the floor, but the interior is done. Red zodiac flake vinyl and white roof. I had the door art put on because with the white roof, it kind of looked "off" without anything on the doors. I think it kind of tied it all in.
Looks like you have been working hard, nice truck. Mine is not coming along as fast as yours. What kind of heads on the flathead, are they painted. It looks tits.
Thanks guys! The heads are original Sharps...painted gold with 'universal gold' engine paint from the parts store. The seats are from GP Autocrafters...the inserts are from my buddy's uphoulstery shop. I think they compliment the bomber seats, and they definately make for an easier ride!
Wow, it's come along way in less than a year. Good Job! I better go out to the garage and get back to my truck if it's ever going to run.
Thanks guys. We built it pretty quick for just weekends, and an hour or two after work here and there. Funny thing is...the truck was in RODDERS DIGEST when it was for sale at the NSRA Southeast Nats...The caption was something about 'You would have to be wanting a model A pickup pretty bad to buy this one...but a good metal man could get it back in shape' Well I'm no 'metal man'...but some time with a D/A sander and two patch panels later, and it was a real decent body. It was all stock when I bought it, and had about three coats of flaking paint on it. It cleaned up nice!
