After plugging away all week, I got the body on the frame for the first time today. Finally seeing it as a whole car ruled!! I had a few clowns over to help me lift it onto the frame, and had to take the obligatory "sitting in it" photo. I still can't believe it. Hopefully I will have another update soon, still a long way to go.
Those 35-36 Headlamps are a nice change from the usual 32s,34 Cmmercials, and Guides so often used in this style.
Ok I will cut you a little slack, tomorrow might not be realistic, but Saturday at Little River is do-able. I got the cage work done on my roadster done this weekend, a little paint work and it is good to go. I will be at Little River Saturday to make some smoke and noise.
I dig the big silly smile. it's an awesome realization that you have a "car" and not "alot of car parts." good job, Mark. kick ***.
Ooooooh that is NICE! It's good to see the pics full-size now - everything looks damn good. Congratulations - I wish I coulda been there!
Thanks for all the kind words fellas. I'm pretty sure I can't live with how wide the rear end is, but other than that I'm happy as hell with it. Best to change it out now, before it gets any further along.
how much wider is the rear end than the front? I seem to recall you had that licked? wait. offset on the "old" new wheels was deeper, wasn't it? add the wide 5 adapters and presto! probably 2 inches wider overall than before.
The front and the rear are wider because of the wide 5 adapters. The front is about 3 or 4 inches narrower on each side than the rear. The rear is 61 inches wide. I am for sure going to change the rear end, it's just too wide period. But i'm worried that I will then have to get a narrower I beam and front spring to make it look right. I mean, I'll do whatever I have to do to make it right, just shoulda done more homework on the rear end width before hand.
