For you newbies, this project has been going on for about three and a half years. Emilio's dad suddenly died right after they had started building his '47 chevy coupe. Members of the board stepped up with support and some parts and it's finally come to fruition. He drove it for the first time yesterday afternoon and made the goal of taking it to a local swap meet and show this morning. I don't know if he made it home, as the car was still there when I left. Thanks again to all who have helped! To let you all know what kind of a kid you've helped out. Emilo's a straight A student, an all league football player and is going to Whitworth College next year on a full academic scholarship. Once again, thank you to all who have helped through the journey and we'll keep you updated as it gets finished.
This is really a great thing...way to follow-through. Congratulations on the first drive Emilio. Bryan
Grats to you Emilio! Your car looked awesome today. The smile on your face when you pulled in was priceless.
Sweet! The first I read of Emilio was the engine fired the first time. It is stories like this that restore my faith in my fellow man. Keeping a good kid on the right track and spreading the gospel. Everyone that has been involved in this project should proud.
Well hell I missed it and I am here in SPOKANT!! By the way what swap meet was this? I completly didn't hear about that one!!!...Ken

It's awesome to see the car at this point. I came in on the story a little late, but I read all the past threads on the story and think it speaks well for our hobby and in particular the guys (and gals) here on the HAMB.
