  1. Well I screwd up.. Many of you know that my truck was wrecked on the way to the lonestar round-up. It was almost out of the paint shop this week but when the paintshop was ***embling the grill they found out that the grill my father and I bought for my truck was too big. Well, the only other same style grill for my truck is a chevy '54 6400 or a 4400 style truck. So If you or someone you know has a '54 Chevy 3100 (1/2 ton) truck grill, please please pm or email me at gthaman06@hotmail.com. It doesn't have to be in perfect condition, just in shape to be painted. Here is a picture of my truck so you can see the exact grill I need.

I know pics are sometimes difficult to read but if your in a bind with this part you may consider straightening the l/outer grille bar. I have seen worse repaired. Since your going to paint it ,it doesn't have to be metal finished ,as if were going to be plated.

Too bad that grille year isn't duplicated. the earlier ones 47-51's are.
You could also consider using the earlier grille by customizing it to fit your fenders. That definitely would give it a different look and since your not chroming much easier to do.

WE were ***embling?!? WE bought the grille?!?

so far, WE haven't bought anything. YOU brought us all the parts, and so far, with the exception of the fender, EVERYTHING has been wrong.
    wrong door gl***.
a more worn out hinge for the door than was on there previously.
    wrong grille.
    not enough paint.
    paint that doesn't match.

WE on the other hand, have made every effort on making this truck work out, which has been a SERIOUS pain in the *** due to the build quality.

and, to date, YOU haven't been by once to even look at it. Your Dad is one hell of a nice guy, but the posts on what "your" paint shop has been up to have been entertaining. and for what it's worth, the truck wouldn't have been done yesterday anyhow because WE have been rebuilding your busted *** suspension.

    WE are pretty pissed.

You are going to leave the truck at the shop just because the grille is not in it? How does the grille affect it's ability to be driven?

dude,if you are bringing the parts and paint for your truck to the builder,THERE IS NO "WE" IT IS ONLY "I".if that is the case,a rant in the shape of wanting parts aint cool.your business is with the builder NOT anyone here on the hamb.as a fellow builder,we work HARD to take care of our customers, and don't deserve to have our hard work slandered by some uninformed dude on a message board.

IF YOU HAVE A BEEF WITH YOUR BUILDER,HAVE THE GUY PAYING THE BILL TALK TO THE SHOP OWNER,OR TAKE THE PROJECT HOME.EATHER WAY,LEAVE THIS TRASH OFF THE BOARD.I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT.

P.S. i'm with ya lux blue.

    here's what I can offer:
    email my friend Joe mothertruckeraz@aol.com
He may have any parts you need. Tell him John Kennedy sent ya.

He hangs out at oldgmctrucks.com as well.

    Hope that helps.

LUX BLUE.... you're a better man than me! I'd have unloaded a gallon of aircraft stripper on that fukers truck and stuck it out in the rain already.

Hey kid, last thing you EVER want to do is piss off the people who are trying to help you, ESPECIALLY builders! I see you are just a young buck but the first thing you need to know is "a person is only as good as his last deal". I'm sure Lux would like nothing more than to roll your truck out into the street with a complimentary rope tied to the front to pull it home after what you said, but I would bet he will make sure it rolls out right. Take responsibility for what YOU are responsible for here and like Danny said, don't hang people out on the board. Perhaps a face to face with Lux would work better!

Im thinking he might have mean WE as in 'My Dada & I' but mayeb I am wrong.
Lux- if you are doing this for them AND they are paid up and dont want the h***le- release yourself from the job.
Kid- if you want more than what is going on- move the truck.
    Its a two way street.

Sorry for the rant, fellas (and Ladies. Hi Denise!)

So This morning Wayne (father of Garrett and actual owner of the truck) came in and payed for the work to date.

of course we are gonna get it right, butI was upset this morning when I found out "we" had ordered all of the wrong stuff, when in fact, all I have ordered is Pizza for the guys that stayed late to finish this truck. frustrating.

Wayne mentioned that he told Garrett it's not our fault, but behold! Foot and Mouth disease exceeds no bounds with the power of the internet.

Young man, you have a bit of "essplaining" to do.

Maybe daddy should make punky apologize, especially since it's daddy's truck and daddy's paying the bills after punky wrecked it.
