    Hey guys,

Found this coupe garaged since 1970 and restored at that time.
Asking price is $3000..., do you think its worth getting it for a rod ? isnt it too much original ?

Im actually pretty much ignorant about this oldies and hot rodding one. Besides the body what parts would be usable ? maybe the frame ?

    Any thoughts would be app.

    That's interesting....A right-hand drive model A.
Looks to be in awfully nice shape, Diego.........if it was mine, I think I'd do the stock restoration on it.

But then, I'm just another opinionated S.O.B.

Never too much original if you ask me. I'd sell the ch***is and rod it out.

  4. Get it, hell if you do nothing but drive it, for $3000 thats a freakin STEAL!!!!

    Hi Roger,

Here in Argentina cars were right handed till the 30's.
About your opinion...., Im afraid I think the same even Im "so" willing
to build a 30-31 rod (more since I joined the HAMB).

    Sweet car.

    Nice price.

But, please stop calling it a deuce.

That's reserved for 32 fords only.

Diego, that's a 1930 or '31 Model A. A "deuce" is a 1932 Ford. Not the same. All that aside, 3k is a very good price.

  12. Mid '40s soup job. =) Hop up the banger, blow off those fenders, keep the wires, juice brakes, maybe a later model rear (later '30s Ford or something) Hell ya...

If it was restored it should have a new engine, rebuilt trans and such. Get it bought, get it running, enjoy it for as long as you can or can stand, then make your decision about rod building. Model As are made to drive and can serve you well and reliably for many years. You may find a loose body somewhere in the meantime and have your hot rod to build while you still enjoy the old days in the original car.

  14. Anyone can restore, it takes a real man to cut one up. Rod it, flatmotor, Z'd it, 35 wires, loose the fenders and slice the top.
That or ship it too me, $3,000? hell take it even if its going to sit in your shop for years untouched. Its worth a hell of a lot more than that!

There was a ROUGH '30/'31 A coupe body here at the NATS South last weekend. It was a bare body only & the asking price was more than 3K.

I saw a pristine '30/'31 A Tudor sedan body sell last fall for 5K. It was also just a body.

I don't know what the market is in Argentina but if I found that car here I could sell what I didn't want & have $1000 in a nice body.

    Either way, BUY IT!

I am about ready to cut-up a "parade car" for a customer...I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Its a very nice piece and it will make a lot of people mad, but if you have ever seen a Model A convention, there is NO shortage of pristine original cars.
You can only look at an original car for so long, it will eventially beg you to add your personal touch...

I'd get it in a flash and do whatever I wanted with it. From a historic perspective, I really hate to see a rare, original car cut up. In the case of Model A's, there's probably a thousand of each body style that's been restored, so I wouldn't hesitate to cut one up. Get it and have a lot of fun!

Yeah Dave, Pasadena's a clever answer, drive the thing, can be hotroded at anytime. 3K for that coupe aint nothing and I will complaint for not buying it......, if you excuse me I gotta make a call !!! =)

    I'll keep you updated.
    Thanks all.

Get it running, put reversed-eyed springs on it, 16" wires with big and littles, a downdraft carburetor and a high compression head and you'll have a real late 1930s/40s style rod (for very little money that will be alot of fun). The exterior has the right 1930 depression car look. And, in a couple of hours you can take these parts off and make it stock again. 3K is a bargain, run and get it.

You can "restore" it and rod it. Here are pics of my "stock" 1931 coupe. It has an original Cragar OHV head, Columbia 2 speed rear axle, 39 Ford ******, juice brakes, Winfield carb and cam.

  26. Seems like a no brainer to me, $3000 is cheap for a 30 coupe.
If you don't want it, I'll buy it, seriously.

Buy it. Leave on the trailer. Hit a few hangout's along the way home, see if the local's know of any similar car's lying about. Leave stock for a while, let the 'vision' come to you.
