when I opened the mailbox today and pulled out street rodder magazine today.. the cover features a model a sedan and the LIGHT GREEN deuce roadster built by ionia rod shop.. (great looking roadster I must say) I was disappointed.. becuase I hadn't seen this A sedan here on the hamb first.. I thought that we were cutting edge.. we had the pulse.. maybe I just got sidetracked with posts about shopdogs, 4 door chevy chops, barn find ********, and other hotrod abominations. HOPEFULLY i just missed it.. please tell me its so.. For what its worth.. this car is awesome.. and I really dont like model a sedans.. I love that headlight bar/ and dropped drilled axle.. and the grille.. what can I say.. if only the cowl were a 28/29.. perfection would have been achieved.. please someone tell me its been posted here before!
I saw that Model J here in Sacto at the Autorama - and damn did it stop me dead in my tracks..I spent at least 45 minutes looking it over, and even came back to it one more time before leaving the show. That car is just stunning in person! If you get a chance to see it live - DO SO! Builder's website - http://www.konoctimotorco.com/ Cheers,
I saw this car at S.F. and was impressed also. I wondered why no one would post pics of it by now though.
Not true sawzall. I posted pic's of it from the GNRS. So did NitroFC. You must have been reading all the OT threads!HA HA!
i got my street rodder yesterday (i don't like that mag to much, but my mom got me a subscription for x-mas). this is the car that i referred to back when i posted the question about the tractor seats. i like the car alot...hate the seats.
Damn good issue,Rolling Bones 32 sedan,Ionia Hot Rod Shop 32 roadster, tech on building a floor, tech on building bomber seats, and more. (What's happening to The Worlds Street Rodding Authority???
I just don't like it. The pinched font end does nothing for the lines of the car. It makes the top seem to grow. I like it OK from the rear, but over all it just dosen't work.
Looks like a museum piece to me. Nice, but not realistic. Maybe I'm wrong, but I could never imagine something like that ever being driven. I can appreciate the work that went into it, but give me a real car anyday.
It sits to low to drive (never thought I'd say that) look how low the grill is. I have 2.5" under my car, and its hard to drive.
Here are mine from the Sacramento Autorama thread...I think there were some posted in the SF Rod and Custom one too. Someone took a lot of time on this car....the gaps are perfect. I was a little thrown off by the wood-paneling in the back...easy fix, though. Bryan
Tried hard to get it featured in R&C- but owner wanted to go with Street Rodder. Can't get all the good ones!
