I just bought a 37 Pontiac 5 window coupe, it is missing the drivers door and trunk lid, is there any other make that is interchangable? I was told that I could only use 37-38 pontiac coupe, does anyone here have parts or knowledge on this subject? Thanks!!
Don't know for sure but Pontiac may have shared the same body with Chevrolet. Someone else here will know.
hollander says on the doors 37-38 pontiac coupe only on the trunk lid 37-38 buick series 46 46s 66s 37-38 olds 6 & 8 coupe 37-38 pontiac coupe all these interchange but have support arms and locks
Whiplash, I've got some junk handles from a '37 Chevy laying around that I could send you to see if it would fit, if you'd like. I won't be home until mid-next week (05/23) to ship them, but if you want to try them, PM me your address and I'll send 'em on to you when I get back. -Bob
the main difference is in the door. Chevy had a bulge line on the lower part of the cowl that tapered into the door, pontiac did not, you could probably alter the chevy doors to make them work if you had too, since old pontiac parts are hard to find. I know cause I have a 39.
Check out the junk yard in vancocer wash. i was just up there and they have a lot of pont. all years .i can not rember the name i think it s amercan something some one on here should no,they have a internet site with a lot of pic. alleyoop
Yeah, I see it now, the "diamond crown speed line" isn't there. Believe it or not, that's what they called the line down the cowl and the door on a Chevy.
The line down the side of the doors & cowl was the "Speed Line". "Diamond Crown" refered to the stainless trim over the grille piece.
