    Diesel is $3.05 / gal.

    Regualar is $3.20+ / gal.

That is in the Denver suburbs. If you go up to the mountains (Vail, Aspen, etc) be ready to BEND OVER!

Other than trying to organize a nationwide "no gas day" that most would never do, what can be done about it? Who needs a beat down to stop the greed? Is there a legal way to stop it all?

7.06$ a Gallon here in Aarhus today.... Its a bit more expensive than it used to be, but its not the highest yet... (8.12$ a gallon is the worst I have seen)

I try not to think about the price when I put gas on my car, but I sure enjoyed it when I bought a whole tank of gas in Las Vegas a few weeks ago!! :-D Almost sprayed a lot on the ground and at my clothes cause I could afford it!!!

I think that these taxes on gas here in Denmark is a way to make our small country seem bigger! ;-)

  9. 3.50 for 87 octane 3.89 for 92 octane as of last evening at speedway. the news said possibly 4.00 a gallon here by memorial day weekend . of course thats no surprise is it? maybe we should strap our hot rod bodies on a wagon and pull them with asses like they do in parts of central america. we would really be stickin it to the man then , huh. mike

    Question....

Is there anything we can do about it?

    (and now, a little rant...)
All of us have high gas prices...we're all taxed to death...I can't barely make it on my own anymore making $30,000 a year (of course, I don't see all of that money because dirty Uncle Sam has big fat pockets) and meanwhile I sit down to watch TV between my 2 JOBS and see Hollywood CRIBS - all these actors/athletes/etc.. making millions of dollars off us!
    (that felt good)

  18. Just paid 2.91 here this morning for 92 octane...........guess I'll be riding the roadglide (39 mpg) to work more!!!

  19. what can you do about it....not much really.
the reason why actors/athletes/etc make so much is because people go to the movies, buy dvds, wear training shoes, go to watch football etc. You cant blame the actors/athletes/etc because if you could get paid $1million to do sumat you are good at you ain't gona turn it down....you have to blame the assholes who buy the Nike air special autograph edition limited to a gazillon pairs trainers for $300 just because some dorky singer/jock/whatever has their name on them...
Don't even start about taxes...... I have to pay mine you have to pay yours.....if we earned $10mil a year there would be some way not to have to pay tax on it........In the UK if you live in a house of historical interest you get a tax break if its open for the public to view even if it's by appointment....Get this in to real terms If you live in a big fuck off country house your daddy left you and your a lord or sumat you get a reduction in tax.......because you need it right!

  20. Oh and petrol here is 12p a gallon..that's 24cents.... the other $9.76 is tax......

In Santa Barbara, it averages 10 cents more per gallon than where I live in Ventura, 30 miles south.
After being in Switzerland recently and seeing those prices, I come home and feel like having a hose fight with all this cheap gas!
(I'm also thinking of a twin turbo bio-diesel motor for the 60 Cad.)
Been on the bike a lot lately, 40 mpg since '72...

here in upstate SC anywhere from $2.76 to $2.89 for regular

What really gets me is when Katrina hit they had oil rigs down, then pipes burst and all kinds of other problems yet they still posted the "LARGEST PROFIT IN HISTORY". And then they say there is no evidence of price gouging..... Look I realize the government wont do anything about it but atleast dont lie about it and insult my intelligence. Just say we're Screwing you all and dont plan to stop.

If gas prices go too much higher, i wont be able to afford to drive to work...

It always gets me when those who are in other countries attempt to compare their $10/gallon gas to that of what we pay here in the US. Yeah, their country sticks it to them with regard to their fuel taxes, but ask them if they pay healthcare insurance?

For instance, my wife would have to pay $357.50 per month in order to cover our family for health insurance. If we split that up among the approximately 80 gallons of gas we buy each month, that comes out to an equivalent figure of $4.47 per gallon of gas.

If you add the CURRENT local price of gas which is $3.29 to the $4.47 we have to pay for health insurance, the total price would come to $7.76 per gallon! Yeah, for the most part its cheaper than some places, but it still screws us in the ass when its all said and done.

If we had a centralized healthcare system where EVERYONE benefitted based on the taxes generated from our purchases at the pump, then it wouldn't be so bad. HOWEVER, we have MILLIONS of citizens who have no healthcare insurance. Yet oil companies keep getting richer? That's fucking bullshit no matter how you slice it.

I was stationed in Alaska from 1997-2001 and we routinely paid anywhere from $1.25-$1.75/gal, and this was expected - somewhat - because of the price to transport the fuel up there to where we were. When I returned home to Oklahoma after I got out of the USAF, the price up there was $1.47/gal and when we got here, it was $1.05! We were thrilled!

So, in the last 6 years, the price of regular unleaded gasoline went from $1.05 to $3.29? Again, this is a complete and total bullshit inflation of pricing. I know the refinement process is different, but if we're not being gouged, why is a quart of oil still only around $1 a quart - the same in 2001 as it is today in 2007.

The laws of supply and demand? No, we've got a holiday weekend coming up, and the oil companies are going to screw us for one reason and one reason only - BECAUSE THEY CAN!

I hate ranting like this, but son of a bitch this shit pisses me off! There was a time many years ago when the president didn't have a limit on how many terms he could serve. The reason? So that he would be continued to 'fight and perform' in order to keep his job. Now, once the dumbass can get elected to a second term, he can basically screw us all in the ass because what does he have to loose?

Sorry for the rant... thanks for listening...
