I'm a geek for seeing stuff go together... I love This Old House.. or America's Test Kitchen... or when they busted out the grinders and the welders on the A TEAM! I don't care what it is (car stuff is the best), but I'll sit and watch an old lady bake a cake if I've never seen it done before.. wierd huh? I thought maybe some of you guys couild relate to my obsession. some examples: http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=18287 http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2969205 http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=220313 I'm a dork
I'm the exact same way. It is the reaso i became addicted to this site, there is always pics of peoples latest projects coming together. it inspired me to get started on mine. ground up build, one off body frame, everything, i'm keeping a good record of everything, one day i'll add it to a build thread, so far i just posted pictures of the frame rails, now i'm working on the body. I love seeing fabrication, and even more than that i like stepping back and admiring my own fabrication
Right there with ya. Food, cars, models, etc. If involves creating a finished product, it gets my attention...in fact I'm watching "How It's Made" on TLC right now! LOL!!!! Love to see people's builds on this site as well.
I don't have a lot of interest in,or knowledge of, woodworking, but I will watch ole Norm build his latest project on the New Yankee Workshop any chance I get. A craftsman is a craftsman regardless of the medium.
I like watching babies get made... (yes I know, I'm twisted) I love watching shows about the manufacturing process and I get ticked off when they gloss over elements of how it's done. Yes, I share your affinity for knowing how it's done.
Great entertainment, unless you can tell the person sucks at it, then it gets painful to watch. I'll throw out unique whips for example. However sometimes when the process is REALLY bad, it once again becomes good entertainment My fave process show is dirty jobs. Sewer lift pump replacement is a process you'd never wish on anyone
