So I bought this car from a HAMB'r back in February and have been tweeking a little ever since. Today I took it out of the garage for the first time and got it licensed and on the road. I have driven it about 75 miles today with a big silly grin.:D Looks like I am going to have something to cruise in this summer after all.
Quick run down of details. It has the original 292 y-block that still needs cleaned up and detailed. The seats and door panels were redone before I got the car, but I added a new headliner and will be installing a carpet kit when it comes in. I left the dash factory, but added a CD player in the glovebox (I know not old school, but good for those long trips) The color his Hot Rod Flatz Vanilla Shake. The roof is done with HOK organic green kandy with a lime green flake over the orion silver base. The picture isn't the best in the world, but that stuff pops in the sun! Custom Tube grille, '56 F-100 Headlight rings, shaved door handles, dummy spots, etc. The rest of the details can be seen in the pics. I also included a couple of before pics on how I got it.
It's going to get pinstriped next week by Darin Allen (killerd on the HAMB) and I am having a sprayliner put in it Monday so that I can use the bed to haul stuff, and yes I will haul stuff in it. Like most older cars, even though it's on the road doesn't mean it's finished, but hopefully will see some of you out on the trail at somepoint during the summer! First stop Lima, OH next weekend.

That looks great! I like how you painted the inner window trim to match the roof. I was thinking about doing that on mine, but wife was sayng it was going to be to reflective, and I'd complain about it after I got it done. Did you paint the metal trim on the top of the door also, or leave it black?

Nice job! I sold my '59 last spring, sometimes wish I hadn't. You'll find they are a great cruiser, and very handy to haul parts, etc. Enjoy!!
